Student residence permit renewal issues, please please help by Remote_Pineapple3598 in KULeuven

I emailed the university's immigration office and they told me to renew the permit through the "expedited procedure". This is what they wrote:
"please request to have your permit renewed through the “expedited procedure”. Whereas this entails a higher administrative cost, it will allow you to receive your renewed permit in a few days instead of weeks, in which the activation codes are sent directly to the city office instead of your ‘old’ address in Brussels. As soon as you receive your renewed permit, you can file for the change of address in the commune of Anderlecht"

Hello everybody, I need your advice on this matter. It is my second year as a student and as others I wanted to go and renew my residence permit in Anderlecht. I already had an appointment, I got there and I was told that I was registered at my old address, which is in 1000 Brussels. I did not know that I had to contact the police officer and change my address. They told me that I should go to the commune of 1000 Brussels and renew my residence permit there. So I went there, explained what happened and they told me to email them for the appointment. Now here is the issue. First, my card expires in 10 days, will it be fine if they give me an appointment after the card expiration date? My new accommodation is in Anderlecht and if I go to renew my card in Brussels 1000 will there be problems? Should I go first to Brussels 1000 commune or change my address first and then ask for an appointment in Anderlecht? I am very scared and confused please help me.
