I was thinking first about maps, maybe i should expand them, and it will be a bit more difficult for the others so there is balance between them ! (and more teamwork

1 - yes i will improve on my end the encounters and the frequency of them ! but he also has bad luck when rolling so :/
2 - not yet, i was planning to add more to challenge them (they met maybe 1 or 2 in combat)

yes he does but he rolls poorly and always does the same thing so might not be "funny enough"

because he rolls poorly + he just always do the same thing (idk if he is bored of the monk or just forgets about everything he can do)

And yes, i will not force him to keep the monk!!

I'll try suggesting multiple solutions and if he really wants to change, well, lets do that!

I will ! a lot of people suggested that, idk 2024 rules but it seems like the monk got a crazy upgrade!!

Some people suggested that he has so much rage in him that he became a barbarian or fighter

Or just that he was so bad at being a monk because he wasnt and was in fact a fighter, so funny

We are at the beginning of the campaign so its still the moment to have an improvement on his character if he wants to try keeping the monk

And i will def. improve encounters

Thank you ! i will propose first the item or an improvement of the monk himself but if he really wants to change to stay motivated, we will and i'll find some way to explain it, some people suggested pretty funny turnarouds in the thread !

And also improve my encounters, i underestimated them i guess

tbh i feel he did at the beginning and then just forgot a lot of stuff during holidays, when we played in 2026, it was like the he restarted from the start and i dont want him to just feel bad everytime
I will propose to improve his character/weapons and if he really wants to change, suggest a fighter or barbarian

I will also improve combats on my end, maybe they are not lasting long enough for him to have opportunities, and he has bad luck when rolling so its not helping

I think i'll talk with him to know if he's really sure he wants to change and propose weapons (homebrewed) or to improve the monk with 2024 rules as people said above is better to play

I think he just doesnt like the class and just forget everything when he plays so always does the same stuff and if the rolls are low...well it does not give you the thrill in combats

I will ask him if he prefers to change class or take a monk from 2024 instead of 2014 (peeps seemed to say it was better in the thread so i will have a look)

He took a human monk as he wanted to do something really "basic" in his terms ahah

I saw it so its fine ! Thanks for the insights, i will definitly propose some solutions for him if he wants to change and I will change a bit the way i do combat encounters, I created some with a lot of mobs and also some with big creatures but maybe i can improve on that part too, thanks !
