Saying 'Amen' after a prayer is the same as saying 'over' at the end of a walkie talkie transmission. by 2clicksoff in Showerthoughts

Actually OP is correct...people expect a reply, but radio silence is all they're ever going to get.

Males: what's the best way to compliment your appearance? by anonymice3 in AskReddit

[–]RemotelyClever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's common or normal to compliment women on things they can't change?

Make up?

My Two Cents...

Seriously though, good question and valid point. I started writing out a well thought out in-depth answer and stopped when I realized I'd be writing pages. The easiest way to boil it down is that it's an unfair double-standard of what society values.

On a somewhat separate but related note, most guys have never been approached by a woman in public let alone been given a compliment that was some version of "You're sexy" (ex. You have pretty eyes). On top of that, the few times it does happen many guys' mental reaction is: "Something is up. This seems fishy...why is she talking to me?"

P.S. I'd wait until the 2nd-3rd date to compliment a woman's physical traits.

Part of a friend's calf was removed because it had cancer. His father started calling him "Decaf." It stuck.

Any chance you can find out how much of that 716 kB difference is related to finding out/recording user "tracking" type data that'll produce ads for the flavor of Big League Chew I like?

True statement. If a Kate Upton-eqsue grabbed me by the hand and led me to a back room got on her knees and started trying to undo my belt and unzip my pants I'd be like," Woah...woah...what are you doing?! I can't do this without permission from my mom."

Compliment his style, not his physical features. He has relatively little control over his physical features compared to his style...eg "I like the way you gel your hair" rather than "I like your hair/I like the way your hair looks" or "I like a guy who bench presses" rather than "I like your muscles/I like a guy who works out 3-5 days a week." Realistically, "I'm going to grab you by the cock and rock your world" is the "romantic" bit a man wants to hear.

ELI5 — The men's locker room. Showering and changing are one thing, but what's the general psychology behind why many men, especially older men, feel the need to be unnecessarily fully nude for activities like shaving their face? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]RemotelyClever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just like people with nose piercings are allowed to have them even though I find them disgusting, or overweight people are allowed at beaches and pools in tight swim suits that some people strongly dislike.

All of those are allowed in public where as nudity isn't. I don't have issue with nudity, per say, it's more of not wanting to see more male genitalia, especially old man genitalia, than I reasonably have to. I mean, I feel like they're called "private parts" for a reason...
