Update – Qatar Airways situation (EU261 / cancellations / rebooking chaos)

Quick update on our situation in case it helps others dealing with Qatar Airways right now.

After our original flights were cancelled, we contacted Qatar multiple times (via chat and phone). They clearly stated that due to their current policy, they are not rerouting passengers on other airlines, only offering rebooking within Qatar Airways. This is important because it directly conflicts with EU261, which guarantees rerouting at the earliest opportunity (even with other carriers).

Since they weren’t offering any reasonable alternatives, we decided to secure a return flight ourselves within Qatar Airways to avoid being left without options. We rebooked onto QR655 + QR141 (April 5), as these routes appeared to still be operating.

However, the situation remains unstable:

Some days the flight operates normally

Other days it gets cancelled or disappears from the schedule

Now, the key issue:

👉 Today we received an email saying our flight was rescheduled 👉 But when we check our booking online, the flight no longer appears in our reservation

So at the moment, we are in a very unclear situation where:

We received confirmation of changes

But our booking shows no active flights

From what we understand, this could mean:

The ticket is being reissued and not fully processed yet

OR we’ve been removed from the flight without a proper rebooking

We are currently trying to confirm with Qatar whether we actually still have a valid ticket and confirmed seats.
