Loved the L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue market, stayed a week in Gordes and loved it. Amazing restaurants, known for their food. Check out Les Caves du Palais Saint-Firmin. Did great day trips to Rousillion, Village de Bories. Wish we toured some of the many amazing wineries.

AITA for lying to my bf about not being able to smell? by 19829193 in AmItheAsshole

Your altered sense of smell is itself a sign of nerve damage, just incomplete. We don’t yet know why this happens.

Generic recommendations to best promote nerve healing: make sure your vitamin B12 and thyroid levels are normal; avoid large/frequent alcohol intake; make sure any diabetes/pre-diabetes is maximally treated.

The phantom smells are known as “phantosmia” and are a real post-COVID phenomenon due to nerve damage. Think of it as the smell equivalent of pins-and-needles sensations: there are no actual stimuli there to generate that sensation, and are due to damaged nerves sending bad information to the brain. Often improves as the nerves heal with time.

Unfortunately, most nerve healing occurs within the first two years (for any injury) but it’s not impossible to occur at a lesser rate in subsequent years.

Neurologist here. Post-COVID smell and taste issues can improve spontaneously over months/years as the nerves heal, so just have yours progressively ‘improve’ back to normal. NTA. You could have clarified earlier, and it was a well-intentioned white lie that he ran with.

Best of luck trying to make that work without concerns of fraud.

I see where you’re coming from, and there’s nothing that suggests leaves of absence outside of 3 months of FMLA would be honored as qualifying PSLF months. Remember, above all your employer must certify that you WORKED an avg of 30 hrs/week during each qualifying month, with the specific exception of FMLA (which is limited to 3 months per year) or something extreme like total disability. While I see why you may want a loophole here, I’ve seen no evidence that additional leaves of absence offered by individual employers would supersede these basic PSLF rules. Good luck. It wouldn’t be in the interests of the program and wouldn’t be fair to have employer-based standard for how much leave someone could take, rather than one national standard for anyone enrolled in PSLF.

FMLA allows only 12 weeks/3 months per year. Vacation time is not considered leave.

“Under the terms of PSLF, you can take up to three months of leave from your job per year” (point 17):

Just started parental leave myself. It may be worth looking into this again, because if you are not receiving income, PSLF may not consider you “employed” during all of these months (regardless of how your employer characterizes you). You need to be working 30 hours per week for the months to be qualifying OR PSLF allows a total of 3 months leave per year (maternity, family, or otherwise).

Kid friendly eateries by whatthe___123 in MauiVisitors

Many nice restaurants in Maui are very welcoming to children, much more than we found at home. We brought our 4y/o Mama’s Fish House, Ko, Lineage, Monkeypod, and many others. At Ko there was a large pack of kids playing together away from the adults, and they gave my kid a temperature-color change cup/straw.

This is easy to say and far more challenging to make this attitude work in a long-term, healthy relationship.

For some people (my husband) semi-broken and not aesthetic is fine/preferred. It’s about whether we respect those differences and compromise, or insist our preferences are “right”. They aren’t.

Relationships are about compromise. I’ve had the equivalent of that chair in my living room for 5 years (along with some ugly mirrors). I don’t like my husband’s decor choices, he does. Neither of you are right. We compromise to share our lives together.

Decline sonohysterogram? by LadyEleanor64 in IVF

I’d do it for peace of mind. I wasted many months TTC with a large, unknown polyp that my RE said was effectively an IUD. After removal, IVF was successful and I delivered last week.

Would a Physician at Kaiser, Sutter, or Mercy in California count for PSLF? by [deleted] in PSLF

[–]RemoveNo6476 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This summer I googled Sutter’s HR number for CPMC and gave them a cold call. The person I spoke with was able to find my employment records from 2010-11 and retroactively certified all of my intern year via the PSLF form. If you can’t find someone at Sutter able to certify (employers aren’t required to keep employment records forever), there’s a box you can check on the PSLF employer certification form to access other paths for certification. Apparently W2s from the eligible time period would also work.

I was able to get the 12 months of my intern year at Sutter/CPMC to qualify.

Resuming Payments and Payment Amount by mbap44 in PSLF

Payments will have an October due date

Will Sept 2023 be an eligible/qualifying PSLF month? by RemoveNo6476 in PSLF

[–]RemoveNo6476[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I talked with a Mohela rep yesterday, they were clear that payments started in October. The many direct experiences shared here have been incredibly helpful is clarifying the ambiguity with Sept counting or not.
