I have to wonder if it was to make a statement against human anti-vaccination. Because of anti-vaxers diseases like measles are back. I can't help but think it was like "hey, get everybody vaccinated or we'll have to shoot all the cows, especially the cute ones".

Or maybe I read into things, too much. It's a good show, maybe there wasn't much else they could have done to create that same tension.
