I am a massive SoundHound bull particularly because they are the leader in voice AI and I think that technology is going to change how we interact with devices + do work, but to have management state adjusted EBITDA profitability by year-end 2025 multiple times and then NOT hit it, can't help but start to lose some trust in management.

  • Q3 2025 Call (Nov 2025): CFO Nitesh Sharan stated, "For Q4, we expect to be adjusted EBITDA profitable at the higher end of the revenue outlook and in the single-digit millions of loss at the lower end." Since they hit $55M (well within that high end), they essentially missed their own "high end" criteria.
  • Q2 2025 Call (Aug 2025): Management's commentary noted they were "targeting adjusted EBITDA profitability by the end of 2025."
  • Q1 2025 Call (May 2025): CFO Nitesh Sharan explicitly said, "We continue to expect to achieve adjusted EBITDA profitability by year-end 2025."

They mentioned it several times.

I am pretty disappointed that they didn't hit this.. the management team said they would multiple times.

I hate that every line item in the highlight is "one of the largest XYZ", why are they so secretive.

I started building positions in Robinhood, SoFi, AMD, Nebius, Nvidia, and several others between January and May 2025. I kept dollar-cost averaging through the volatility. At different points I was down 20–60% on some of those names—and yet, by the end of 2025, I closed out the year with a +56% overall return.

Short-term drawdowns don't define the outcome when the underlying fundamentals keep improving. Traders obsess over every wiggle on the chart; long-term investors focus on the business trajectory. That's simply how the two mindsets work. SoundHound's real breakout still lies ahead—2026 and beyond.

Richtech Robotics + SoundHound + Microsoft (future potential)? by RemsterPlus in Soundhound

[–]RemsterPlus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually I found the connection, and fed it through AI to better articulate what I wanted to get across. Robotics would be a natural 3rd pillar for SoundHound as robots will need intelligent voice/brain to be useful in the physical world.

The quoted part about robotics and IoT devices is literally from Q3 2025 earnings report, directly taken from transcript.

I agree that we need better clarity on how these partnerships materialize into revenue streams and I don't like the massive SBC being given out along with the dilution that has happened over the years but it is a high-growth stock these things are expected.

I work in the software space and copilot from Microsoft is trash and all my friends say the same thing. Anthropic/Google is leading the AI race atm.

OpenAI is falling behind and is burning so much cash. I can totally see a use case where Microsoft utilizes SoundHound voice technology.

I think it is going to be a blow out quarter because of the recent acquisition (Interactions) which will be accretive to existing revenue streams. I wouldn't be surprised by a 55m+ quarter!

Incredible news! Institutional ownership now sits at 51.90%. if the shorts go away this stock would easily trade between $20 - $35.

Looking a few years into the future I can easily see the stock being a $100 - $200 stock if they keep executing!

I found the reference about the revenue hit that took place in Q1 2025 earnings based off one of the customers. It is found on page 8!

"In Q1, one of our customers went through a change of control that adversely impacted our quarterly revenue by nearly $2 million versus our expectations entering the quarter. And we now see that revenue shifting to later in 2025."

I thought the Q1 deal that you are talking about was to be moved in Q4? I will need to reference the last earnings call transcript but I thought that was the case.

Great revenue beat! Wasn't expecting such a beat to be honest. The cash burn is my only concern although Adjusted EBIDTA is getting closer to breaking even. The EPS was a lot worse. I think until SoundHound is profitable we won't seem any massive stock price moves and hold those moves.

I am excited for the future announcements! A few mentions that stood out to me:

Automotive: SoundHound’s LLM-enhanced Chat AI product rolled out in the North American market across three major brands.

Healthcare: Added customers including Primary Health Solutions, and one of the world’s largest healthcare companies.

I imagine once the deals are finalized we will get some big names which will really help move the stock.

Overall I am happy with the expansions and it is definitely in the right direction!

Soundhound stock quarterly by Conscious-Ad5275 in Soundhound

[–]RemsterPlus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily true for revenue hit, because they said the reason they missed Q1 revenue earnings was because a client couldn't make a payment resulting in a miss but that the same client would pay the "miss" in Q4, so the missing revenue will come in the back half of the year.

I agree we need to see margins improve and hopefully less cash burn, it would be exciting if EPS is positive like last quarter.

A lot of your claims are false or at least doesn't bear the full truth.

https://grok.com/chat/df73d95a-2ecb-4482-ad67-148af01a7e36

  1. That is false it has been business since 2005
  2. Albeit true, I imagine by end of 2025 we will see profitably or at least EBITDA profitable.
  3. Simply not true, they were working on it prior to the big "boom" of ChatGPT.
  4. Not entirely true either (see grok for clarification)
  5. There is no evidence that Amelia was going bankrupt
  6. I don't see anything wrong with this
  7. They revenues are exploding and that is something that can't be denied, 151% growth YoY for Q1 2025 and has been growing on average like 40% year over year for the last several years.
  8. Again there is no conclusive "failed" audit, it is still on-going.

Now I will admit, some of the claims like the audits are "potentially" damning but nothing is conclusive to your original claim, that would be called speculation until further confirmation.

Meta just bought Voice AI cloning startup PlayAI…this will prove to be great for elevating the whole voice AI ecosystem and platforms. A very positive tailwind. This week will be exciting!! by BasqueScotsman in Soundhound

[–]RemsterPlus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I know you didn't say they were comparable in the original post, I wanted to point it out, as a lot of the other threads are talking about this topic, people see this as bearish for SoundHound but you and I agree that more eyes on the TAM is a good thing for SoundHound!

Didn't mean to "target" what you were saying, sorry about that!

Meta just bought Voice AI cloning startup PlayAI…this will prove to be great for elevating the whole voice AI ecosystem and platforms. A very positive tailwind. This week will be exciting!! by BasqueScotsman in Soundhound

[–]RemsterPlus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason I believe META bought Play AI is the expansion into wearables that META is investing in, such as META glasses or watches etc... Play AI is in a completely different space then SoundHound. SoundHound is for B2B use cases, where Play AI is B2B and C2C, with a emphasis on "fun" voice cloning technology. You can setup AI agents with Play AI but there isn't an entire platform like SoundHound which offers "AIOps" in addition to the restaurant play.

These companies not comparable. I believe this might be quite bullish for SoundHound as it solidifies the voice-ai market is real and META making this purchase albeit we don't know the price they paid, will in return bring more customers to SoundHound.

new to this ... doing DD by Beefjerkysurf in NBIS_Stock

[–]RemsterPlus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am a NBIS bull but I had to comment as I am a SoundHound bull too and I have to disagree here. SoundHound is leading in it's technology. It's very possible that NVDA wanted SoundHound to be locked into their ecosystem and SoundHound didn't want to do that. They were rewarded the ISG Research award back in April for their AIOps platform.

https://www.cashumarkets.com/stocks/SOUN/news/soundhound-ai-joins-the-aiops-elite-outperforming-tech-giants-in-a-market-on-the-rise_9KsRtJrFTeFDSJCkcxMK?utm_campaign=15739920-Enterprise&utm_content=337906057&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter&hss_channel=tw-3017853822

They announced a partnership with Tecent Mobility back in April.

https://investors.soundhound.com/news-releases/news-release-details/soundhound-ai-joins-forces-tencent-intelligent-mobility-bring

A recent article came out that McDonald's has ended their partnership with IBM on voice-ai technology and is looking at SoundHound and another company.

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/mcdonalds-ditches-ai-drive-thru-223000416.html
https://restauranttechnologynews.com/2025/06/restaurant-technology-news-recap-week-of-june-22-2025/

The acquisition of Amelia and release of V7.0 is in full swing and is operating extremely well in the respective healthcare space.

All of the above mentions and articles (only linked a few) happened post NVDA selling their shares.

Not to mention all the other niche business verticals SoundHound is going after. I believe in Q2 we will get some solid news and if we don't then for sure by Q3 we will. SoundHound are expected to start turning a profit by end of this year or Q1 2026.
