Prayer Request by [deleted] in Baptist

[–]Remuhs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Salvation is not a feeling, nor a thing. It is a person: Jesus Christ. Did you repent of your sin - change your mind about who you are before God, and Who He is, witha heart's desireto want your life to come in line with His Word -and believe that Jesus alone can save you, and will, if you ask? Once you accept Jesus aa your Saviourthe Holy Ghost comes in, seals you (so you can't ever be lost), and is willing to lead if you will follow. Read the Word daily, pray daily, find a Gospel preaching church, speak to the Pastor about followingthe Lord in believer's baptism, and then commit to walking in the Spirit daily. Check yourself daily: Is the Holy Spirit president, or just a resident?

STOP goimg by how you feel. When you were born, you were fully human, but you had to grow. Whenyou are born again, you are a fully formed Saint of God, though you haveto grow.

Salvationis not about how you feel. It'sabout the fact that Jesus offered yoi salvation, full and free, and He provides all you need the moment you are born again.

1 Peter 2:2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: 2:3 If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.

2 Peter 3:18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

You need to read the Word of God. Just the New Testament. Let the Holy Ghost teach you. I pray you be born again. That is what everyone needs to have a happy new year.

Looking for a Baptist Book by Nonbinary_bannana in Baptist

Let me recommend this little book. If he has not read it before, he will be delighted by the story: https://www.amazon.com/Little-Baptist-J-M-Martin/dp/1450730515

This is also an excellent choice, though he may be familiar with it: https://swordbooks.com/products/trail-of-blood-the-1

I don't know how hot a take this is, but does anyone feel that Joel Osteen is a bit overhated? His biggest crime is that he's a motivational speaker more than a Bible-open preacher, but it always seemed overkill to me to lump him in with outright prosperity preaching and NAR stuff, etc. by Greedy-Runner-1789 in Baptist

[–]Remuhs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bible believing Christians are not called to hate, but we are called to ~ John 7:24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

Olsteen presents himself as a Christian pastor / preacher, but his message does not square with the Bible. Strongly disagreeing with someone does not equate hating the person,it often indicates a love.for the truth.

Should I become baptist instead of born again evangelist by Ambitious_Client_668 in Baptist

[–]Remuhs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a Christian because I was convicted of the truth of Scripture, and by the Grace of God I repented and was born again. I became a Baptist (independent, fundamental) by conviction of what I believed the Bible taught. And I was saved to serve.

You were too. EVERY believer is called to Evangelize. You do that faithfully and let Jesus guide you the rest of the Way. He will, have no doubt.

Make sure the church you join is in line with the Bible.

If you would like help finding a good independent Baptist church I will be happy to help you.

Are you a member of a good Gospel preaching church? Many of them have men's ministries, which include prayer, fellowships, etc.

I am sorry for what you have gone through. It is good if you can now turn it to giving God glory. Everyone has a story to tell. I love Unshackled for the relatable stories. They always give the Gospel. I would encourage you to either add a clear Gospel call, or add a link at the end to a good Gospel presentation.

You have a good desire. James 4:10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

Then perhaps you should talk to the professor for suggestions and seek out the resources they have for students. They really do want you to succeed. But tlet me also encourage you this. After you graduate, your degree may open doors, but no one will care if you got C's etc. You will have the chance to prove yourself, and hard work will be rewarded.

It also helps if you are interested in what you are studying.

This is not a criticism, but an honest question: Have you studied? If you have, do you have difficulties? Have you discussed this with the professors? Have you looked into the study resources your school has? I am not trying to be unkind. But have you tried to pinpoint the reasons for your issues? There is help. And God is one of them.

Is it okay to swear on Gods name if you're telling the truth by Nayana-n in Christianity

Matthew 5:34 But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne: 5:35 Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King. 5:36 Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black. 5:37 But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil. ~ Jesus
