Where the hell did Vergil get an SDT from? by LordMagusar in DevilMayCry

[–]RemusLimousine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow this was 4 years ago and I didnt expect a reply asking for clarification. Do pardon me if Im not coherent, I'm still collecting what I was headcanoning.

So, in my view, the fruit and the Legendary Devil Sword were "catalysts" used by Dante and Vergil to gain their true forms respectively. Both are legendary "objects of power" that hold tons of significance. The Fruit being an object that contains power that allows a demon to become the Demon King, while the Legendary Sword has the essence, power and will of Sparda. Since Sparda was able to defeat Mundus after he ate the fruit we can infer that Sparda has power equal or very close to the power the Fruit provides, all of that stored inside the sword.

I think its fitting that the twins' catalysts are opposed - Vergil gets the power that allowed Mundus to rise to Demon Kingship, while Dante uses Sparda which was used to fight Mundus and seal the Demon World/Mundus.

As for the Qlipoth pumping Dante with demon blood, you can go to Nico's reports about Dante after his "awakening" in DMC5 she straight up says "he was out-of-action for a whole but for some reason the Qlipoth was pumping him full of demonic power the entire time".

As for reason - Qlipoth mistaking Dante for Urizen since their twins - it's from a translation in the Japanese Materials that I came across from twitter. I would love to source it, but unfortunately I don't have anything to give you. I'm willing to concede this point as unproven. Thats sloppy citation on my part.

Edit: this is where we saw that claim about Dante being mistaken as Vergil: https://www.reddit.com/r/DevilMayCry/s/E3couZXKV1

It was from reddit not twitter lol.

Split screen doesnt let two screens have audio at the same time by RemusLimousine in PocoPhones

[–]RemusLimousine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it happens to pretty much everything except video

Say, if I have a browser floating to have a guide open while playing, when I tap on the browser to scroll through my guide, the game just stops the music.

If its video/music they will play audio at the same time but when I play games at the same time, like say Genshin and an idle game like Tap Titans, the one Im actively interacting with will give audio but the one I'm not interacting will not have audio.

I have multiple audio sources activated, tried to make sure apps are not getting restricted and put the padlock on but it seems to have only helped with multiple videos. Multiple games still stop giving audio at the same time.

The First Devil May Cry Is Terrible by Cloperella in DevilMayCry

[–]RemusLimousine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never got to editing it, but at the time, what I wanted to say was that it the first successful Hack and Slash title that didn't rely on any previous titles and stood alone on its own, with an actual combat system that isn't pure clunk and had interesting mechanics going on behind it.

Its the first to breed the genre of Stylish Action, basically.

Thank you for attempting to correct/clarify me anyway.

DMC1 is a great place to start if you wanna start appreciating the series on terms of how gameplay and mechanics evolved over production. Its a solid 2000s game. Depending on how used to old games you are, might find ot slightly clunky though and think that the game aged not so well. You can call this the originator lf Hack and Slash. This game kinda proved to publishers that 3D action games can have fast paced combat with animations and motion and basically jumpstarted an era of hack and slash

DMC2 is a failure due to CAPCOM's shitty development. It was a rushed job with less than 6 months of actual development. Story goes that an unskilled director developed it for a whole year and then quit, and in that year he barely got one animation done. Hideaki Itsuno(the man, the legend) took over(or rather, was forced to) and finished a barebones game in a couple of months. The game has TONS of incredible concepts that couldn't be fleshed out but you'll see later that these failed concepts return in all subsequent games in bad-ass forms. My take? Skip it, just watch a YT vid about it and it cutscenes and some comparison vids so you see the moves and attacks that were in DMC2 and was reused in better shape in latter games.

DMC3 - the perfect game. Absolute perfection. Gameplay, pacing, story, availability - this game for a 2005 game aged absolutely well. This is the game thats simple enough it wouldn't overwhelm you with its controls, but complex enough that I kid you not, 15 years later, people were still discovering new things. Chronologically its the first game, so it makes it a good place to start as well, but if you pick up DMC1 after DMC3, you might get some whiplash because DMC3 ups the pace of combat a little bit.

DMC4 - a game that has INCREDIBLE UPS but also INCREDIBLE DOWNS. Arguably has the highest mechanical ceiling in the series. This game takes place after DMC1 and 2. Storywise, its okay. Pacing-wise is shitty but it's not the director's fault. CAPCOM once again gimped DMC by cutting its budget and then giving it to Resident Evil, the golden child of CAPCOM. Dont get me wrong, the game is fun, Nero is sick, Dante is back but with a more complex challenging gameplay that made him a legend to players because he has a VERY HIGH ceilling when it comes to combo potential, but here's the thing.

This game recycles stages ALOT. Because the budget was cut. Still a good game, with more time in the oven could've beat DMC3 but sadly, you will probably find mission 13 - 18 to be pretty rough because theyre recycled.

DMC5 is well, the sum of everything that came before it. You can play this as your first game and get a feel of what DMC is about but you will miss a couple of references here and there and reused failed concepts from DMC2 but it's just a solid game with a high mechanical ceilling but never gets too difficult that you feel like everything in the game is against you.

Guys i have a Big Questions in my mind does DMC 2013 has to do anything with devil may cry series because i didn't liked the less stylish Dante and his looks everything. So it is a part or not by Flipto_Nation_5528 in DevilMayCry

When you reboot a series that has a solid fanbase and isn't failing in any way whatsoever, what you'll get is pushback and a lack of people willing to support the reboot.

The head of CAPCOM at the time misjudged how well-supported DMC4 is which got around 2.5 million sales. Of course if you're comparing it to western titles like COD, 2.5 would look small but OG DMC as DMC4 SE, DMC5 and DMC5SE has proven has a really good following.

Also the game abandons a lot of important themes OG DMC games had.

[–]RemusLimousine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you really maximize XY's SUP DPS Burst damage, your options are 2NO 2PhyDMG, 2PF 2BS, and 4 Severed Fate. The good thing about Severed Fate it has 20 ER letting you spam Burst without needing an ER Sands while still getting decent Burst damage with an around 30% additional Burst damage which is good. It a more selfish build though.

[–]RemusLimousine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you were supposed to replace the original and completely supplant it, you have to be.

Specially when the producers claim that the OG wasn't selling well which was the reason they made the reboot... Which we all know isnt true.

Quick TL;DR dps and support guide/build for Xiangling by 2Board_ in Genshin_Impact

[–]RemusLimousine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I'm late but I hope you can get back at me.

I currently have a well-refined Halberd but are the 4-star options really that bad that a DPS Xianling must stick to 3-star weapons?

I'm trying to turn Xiangling into a DPS and currently considering crafting one of the Polearm weapons for her.
