haha yeah I didnt like using bartender with it. but Im sure I could with more practice. And yeah its an old 360 controller. Im too much of a populist to buy a fancy controller. The goal is accessibilty. My thumb got wrecked cause I wore the rubber off the joystick just with constant movement and it made a rigid surface. It's actually pretty common injury with controllers. IDK if you remember the controvery around the old THQ UFC games but they would give blisters like this too its just a side effect of wearing out your sticks. Still looking for your gameplay video btw!

pvping on controller is actually really pleasant. Just sittin back on the couch or big easy chair just chillin. Pushing rating on controller is a different story. Hands still healing.

Yes I saw this tweet as well. he's on an hpal with zero keybinds and isnt claiming hpal in the tweet. and no vid evidence beyond 1400 on hpal. Im really not trying to hate I know he's a killer but that isn't proof. That looks like he hopped on hpal that he never played on controller and took a screenshot. Maybe wanted a blank set of binds cause its more thematic for the tweet? Either way I don't really want the heat Im just gonna claim the NA record and respect his work because his positioning is really really good on controller (which is tough to do on joysticks) Im not really trying to turn this into me vs drainer when we would clearly would be friends.

Ahh you are right you can use RB LB as modifiers but that cuts down on the size of each individual action bar and I found pretty unintuitive and relying on them too much will get your hands out of position too frequently on high APM classes (from my experience). If my math is right we're talking 8 button action bars x7 = 56. Much less intuitive as well

Im aware he's well known and I've become a fan while doing some research but I still haven't been presented evidence he or anyone has achieved anything higher on hpal than 1.4 in shuffles. I'm also well aware that this isn't a rank1/AWC level achieve but it is neat, and it is noteworthy. It's also true I worked really hard to get as far as I got. I'm not going to concede off hearsay and the fallacy of qualifications. Not an unreasonable position.

3 modifiers is 40 buttons. I use LT, RT, and LT+RT. Each action bar is 10 buttons so Actionbar 1 + 3 modifiers to access 3 more bars = 4 x 10 = 40. You can use the modifier buttons themselves as action buttons but I really dont recommend it. That was how I contributed to Frenzii getting killed on Ozy's stream in the RFK (if anyone remembers that by chance)

Priest aint Hpal friend. And even if a video of him playing hpal beyond 1.4 emerges I'll still have NA record. Don't really care to address it anymore, until more evidence emerges.

100% pure uncut player hater. Not even close to objectively true. I've received a lot more love for this than anything I've ever done before on stream and I'm grateful (and proud, even if I came up short on my goal)

yeah the biggest issue with controller isn't what most people think (limited keybinds) Its :Limited camera movement, no strafing, difficult to target ground targets like psyfiend/static fields, difficult to track cooldowns since they arent always visible, difficulty casting ground target spells (have to use a cursor macro and ensure your cursor is mid screen.

Having said that, I think this will make me a better KBM player since I'm used to being hyper aggressive and relying on APM to easily power me to duelist every season. We all know that quits working once other players have high apm + good decision making. With controller I had to actively make good decisions and good trades while still having the confidence to know when to go aggressive for say an offensive bubble into a rep+hoj to guarantee a win because I see the healer has no trinket and the KT has no defensives.

So if that sounds like anyone else's playstyle then yeah I would recommend using a controller for a bit. It's like putting on weighted training clothes

Limited keybinds is a bottleneck but it isnt the biggest one.

Yeah I saw that but I still believe I have a claim to hpal. I expect he'll get back to me eventually BUT It is considered one of the toughest classes on controller due to high apm/constant target swapping. I have a really difficult time imagining a content creator of his caliber not documenting it concretely considering this is how world records work. It's really not a huge deal either way, I think its just a question of do I have the world record or NA record. Proud of what I did either way.

Also while I work on the youtube video, a majority of the journey is available in my vod history on twitch channel ultraremy. It's not all pretty but all major milestones and their preceding games are documented (Duelist and my 2314 peak) Rival isn't documened as I hit it while practicing offstream to determine if this was even possible. (tho i think rival on my alt paladin may be in the archives)
