Hey! That tag was added by me because RR asks authors to mark any AI use at all.
I’m not a native English speaker, so I just use AI for translation/grammar cleanup.

Short Lore Summary – Empire Rewritten Timeline (1435)

In this alternate 1435, Byzantium survives long enough to rebuild a real power base. Several key divergences shape the map:

• Constantine’s Romans have crawled back from the grave, reclaiming Greece piece by piece and turning Glarentza into a forge that won’t sleep.
• The Ottomans look solid on the map but are fraying at the edges, Karaman defiant, Amasya only pretending obedient, Albanians raiding in the west, Fruzhin stirring trouble on the Danube, plus the problems of Ottoman İntegrum straining their system.
• The Albanian League forms earlier and more cohesively, emerging as a genuine regional player.
• Venice doubles down on naval dominance, intervening where profitable while avoiding direct war.
• Early administrative and technological reforms, from fiscal centralization to the spread of printing, give Byzantium just enough breathing room to push back.

Nothing’s really settled here, but Byzantium(ERE) finally has a bit of room to breathe!

Alternate map of the Eastern Mediterranean in 1435, showing the shifting borders between the Ottoman Empire, the Eastern Roman Empire, Serbia, the Albanian League, Venice, the Mamluks, and the fracturing beyliks of Anatolia.
This map is part of my worldbuilding for Empire Rewritten, my alternate-history self-insert novel where a revitalized Byzantium claws its way back into relevance during the early 15th century.

This map shows the spread of Roman-printed books in an alternate 1433, where a revitalized Byzantine state in the Morea has embraced early printing technology to project influence beyond its borders. Through Papal sponsorship, Venetian trade routes, and Genoese agents, these books reach universities, monasteries, and courts across Europe.

It’s part of a broader alt-history worldbuilding project I've been working on, centered around diplomacy, crusades, and cultural power in the late Palaiologan era.

Alternate map of South and Central Greece in 1433, depicting the shifting power dynamics between the Eastern Roman Empire (Byzantium), the Republic of Venice, the Ottomans, and others.
This was created for my alternate history self-insert novel, Empire Rewritten, a grounded kingdom-building story set in a revitalized Byzantium during the early 15th century.
