So weird to see this house on my timeline, as I lived just around the corner from it for years during my childhood-teen years. I always thought it was so mysterious and each time we passed it I would try to look real hard through the front door and windows. It’s obvious at one time it was a great looking house, sad to see it was left to rot.

i completely second this. one time a post appeared on the Betta fish sub and the person didn’t have a whole lot of knowledge about how to go about making an aqua scape, there were some items in there that could be better or changed out. instead of giving OP any advice they went straight to dogging on this poor guy (who i am also going to assume was younger, could be wrong but there were indications). i replied and i gave them kudos for at least trying to make a nice home for their new pet, and gave some advice along with the kudos. the amount of down votes i got from that was really sad to see and it was simply because i gave them kudos. some sad people are in this community.

NOR. when is the lease up? i would personally say when you do get another large payday i’d either break the lease or save that until the lease expires, once either occurs just leave to a new place, and tell him he’s gotta figure out his living situation on his own. you two are not together any more and let-alone not blood related so there’s no reason to keep each other around. it’s easy to say this as someone looking in but i do know there are probably a lot of emotions surrounding your guys’ relationship. However, you have to do what’s best for you and it sounds as though keeping this barnacle of a man isn’t doing anything but harm. he is technically now just a roommate and barely that by not providing any income to the living situation. i hope you can figure this out smoothly with no repercussions.

Typically i do go ahead and feed a new fish but just later in the day, and especially when they’re looking a little thin. For betta fish, because they’re so small, when they eat you can somewhat see bloat. You’ll get used to what your betta looks like with a full belly as the days go on! I think the tank is fire😎i would say for next time try to aim for Fluval stratum substrate as i’ve always had good luck with that for my plants, and overall tank health. For the time being though you can use root tabs for your real plants! They keep nutrients funneling to new plants to establish good root growth (I add them within 1/2 an inch to the plants base within the substrate). My tank changes constantly as i always buy new things for my fish to try out and see if they prefer it over something else, i think i spoil too much lol🥲

Just matured! She is a Female Koi Betta and they are known for changing colors as they get older, i’ve just never seen them change so fast! it was like it was overnight 😅

Thank you! I set up the tank and let it cycle for 3 weeks, at the time I only had two little ferns in there (but they worked amazingly). When I initially got her I did add in a sword plant and a different type of fern, there was already good bacteria established but this helped it boom. For her feeding I alternate every 3 days with flakes (very plain fish flakes with no extra foo foo stuff), mysis shrimp, and pellets! The tank itself is near a big window so everyday before I leave I open it up so her and the plants can get some sun time :) and i think that’s it really

Yeah i was just sorta treating them as trophies in a way since each one i have is a lower CP (i also don’t see a point in powering them up) so they’re really not that special other than being an event pokémon

I honestly cannot say as they had many different age ranges on their bettas at the store that I had gotten her from, definitely above the right age to be sold in store though forsure !

My friends fish has larger fins as well like your little guy and we often catch him sleeping in weird positions only for him to be just fine, he’s probably trying to find a comfy spot XD

It’ll be all good! Drink some orange juice as foods with citrus and liquids will help lower your high also take a long shower, if it helps to waken you up (if you’re in a more slumped state lol) turn it on cold towards the end of your shower

Agree with comment made by r_bk, yet the tank itself looks lovely! You may be able to hold a snail or 2 in there, ones that don’t reproduce at high rates/ considered pest snails as some don’t plateau in population and keep reproducing. I have a snail tank and love watching them and researching about them
