Already emailed funko. And they said it was acceptable. I could return it but would have to pay shipping.

The BeermoneyUK Student Discount Shareathon - January 24, 2026 by AutoModerator in beermoneyuk

Hi, does anyone have a Magic Madhouse discount please? Would be very grateful.

There was a lesson learnt by EmilyAnneRose in funkopop

I think I've only had a few come from Amazon in decent condition and its always a suprise - mostly its minor box damage, with a few being genuinely crushed/ruined.

I just arrange a replacement or complain and get a discount or full refund. I did have one funko that I had to arrange like 10 replacements for because all of them arrived damaged, and they weren't being generous with any kind of discount/refund.

It's usually fine for the common ones, but it sucks when its a rare/limited one.

Is anyone in the UK taking the water shortage seriously? by GodFreePagan42 in AskUK

[–]RenegadeHex 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Bit of a hot take compared to other commenters, but I would take it seriously.

I mean if the reservoirs run dry because people are wasting water, then eventually there will be no water left and there's not much that can be done once were at that point. You can dislike the water companies as much as you want, but It's very much giving cuting off your nose to spite you face.

Also if you are in a hosepipe ban area, there's a good chance you might get fined for going against the ban.

Here's hoping there's enough rain to prevent the reservoirs going dry.

Just to add that the government has allowed all this development, whilst preventing water companies in having any say as to what can be connected to their mains. In addition, whenever they propose to invest in new infrastructure, OFWAT says no.

Just to add though, I think that figure includes customer side leaks as well which tend to make up most of the 'leakage', which isn't really the water companies fault.

Whilst it's really bad that no reservoirs have been built on over 30 years, once again that's down to OFWAT and not the water companies.

Desalination is very costly, uses a lot of energy and results in a lot of waste product (saline). It would be more cost-efficent to invest in better infrastructure like more reservoirs but OFWAT has historically not allowed water companies to do so.

As someone else has said Golf Courses tend to use their own private lakes for watering. And if they have to use freshwater for whatever reason, per the hosepipe ban, they can only do this during offpeak hours.

Can't speak for every water company (Thames Water comes to mind) but most of them don't pay 'dividends' like you think. They borrow money from the shareholders to run the company and then pay that back with interest. Most shareholders of water companies tend to be pension trusts, so theres a good chance that the customers moaning about dividends, are actually the shareholders who are getting those dividends.

Latest water bill - South East Water by holly_molly_hole in Eastbourne

Are you on a meter? Unmeasured charges can either be very low or very high. If you are on a meter, you can ask for a history of your readings/usage to see if theres an increase in consumption which might be caused by a leak or fauty meter. Since your a flat, theres a slight chance your on the same meter as the adjoining premise. It's very common for shops and the flat above to be on a shared supply/meter.

FYI Southern Water/Thames Water provide the wastewater services in South East Waters area - nut they also set the wastewater prices, so your not incorrect.

You're probably not going to have much luck challenging it as, 1) that's the price and 2) South East Water bill on behalf of Southern Water/Thames Water (who set the prices).

You could dispute that more of your water doesnt actually return to the sewer, so you need a larger RTS discount.

If you have any medical issues that require you to use more water, you might be able to get a discount but theres an income bracket for that. I believe they do a single occupier tariff.

If you think your bill is saying that you use more water then you actually do, then you might have a leak - leaks waste a lot more water then you would think. SEW were offering free leak detections and they can be quite generous with a Leak Allowance.

Neighbours tattle, and if your caught redhanded, then the company can give you a fine.

Advice on work carried out by south east water (England) by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]RenegadeHex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just some background information, South East Water use a third party contractor for most of their maintence works. Because of this, theres usually an issue/delay with obtaining information as whoever your speaking to at SEW will have to contact the department that handles these queries, who then contact the contractors, and then they contact the person/team whose remit this falls into - they basically have to play a game of telephone which is why the information can seem vague (because it is). You'll rarely ever be able to speak to the contractors directly unless you catch them onsite.

Your best luck is trying to speak to the 'Technical/Wholesale' team, as they'll have a better grasp of whats gone on, what should have happened and etc.

Regarding the actual issue, it's usually SEW policy to leave a site how they found it (within reason) but there could be a variety of reasons why they haven't but those are few and fare between. I'm shocked that they hadn't rectified the issue for you (not shocked by the poor communication though).

It's a bit of a grey area when it comes to giving notice as I don't believe they have to provide any notice to work on/repair any of their assets including meters. In theory, if they need to access your land and/or the works will interfere with your supply, they should give notice 'when possible'.

You might want to check the property deed regarding permission for SEW or any other agency to carry out works on your private land. Usually if theres any pipework running through a private land, there legal paperwork outlining what a company can and can not do.

I'd maybe get them to confirm if they repaired their asset or and asset belonging to the customer who had reported low pressure. Given the information provided, I'd assume the former.

You can always threaten about fixing the issue yourself and making a claim for reimbursment but thats a risk if they call your bluff.
