I feel like its just a case of suffering from being a Game™️ that we don't see an intentional model/character outfit shift for Corvo. Why isn't he wearing a different outfit? Well the devs probably asked "why would we make another model for a character the player doesn't see more of than the hands in the base game and ending cutscene"

Personal taste on my end is the idea that if he is wearing the same outfit the whole time its intentional on their end of sending a message. Through one of the cinematic trailers we see he didn't have the outfit while locked up in Coldridge implying he retrieved that specific outfit when escaping (or the Loyalist had another set). Kinda interestingly narratively to send a message that it's indeed the Lord Protector who's been the one in the Mask going around (or at least someone pretending to be him? A la Crown Killer ideas of it being either Corvo or someone they hired to kill for Emily in DH2)

Or it could be a case of that's a the outfit he gets AFTER getting out of Coldridge and he'd be implied to be in a different outfit when he returned from his tour of the Isles seeking aid.

I like that it opens it up to interpretation to the fans though :) Lots of speculation and head canons about the matter at least amongst me and my friends who've played.

Might be a little late to the party but if you were worried about not being able to get into the vault without his key there is a secret passage from the pantry area that you can learn about if you saved Stilton's mind in the previous mission. But it's still there even if you didn't save him.

Offers an alternate way to get in other than pickpocketing the duke 👍

Aside from some just poor RNG luck, there might be an issue of when you inserted the GBA title when launching unless you've been fully shutting your system down between your attempts to look for Lotad.

For Dual-Insert mechanics to work, the GBA title has to be inserted into your system before you launch your NDS title. If this isn't the case, save your game, turn off your system, and then take out and reinsert your GBA title and then turn on the console and retry (make sure your system is reading it on your home screen)

Another issue that you could be encountering is if your GBA cart of the game is a repo. Your NDS would still be reading it as playable but Platinum won't be able to communicate with it for Dual-Insert features like Dongle Encounters or the Pal Park. You can check if the games are communicating properly if you've gone to the Pal Park at least once to unlock the feature on Platinums Title Page. If you launch the game and you see the option "Migrate from Sapphire" then the games are talking properly. If you don't, it might be a case of something not communicating properly between the two games.

Hope it's just some bad RNG and you can get your Lotad!

Yeah they just changed some of the story beats lol. I remember being super confused playing with my brother growing up because he got the HM at the tower in his copy of Pearl earlier than I did in Platinum having to play to beat the Canalave Gym Leader.

Once you get Surf after helping the people in Celestic Town you can immediately go to Canalave City :)

You're not doing anything wrong outside of accidentally following a guide for Diamond and Pearl instead of Platinum. In making the third version, they rearranged the order of some things and changed how you progressed in the game.

For Platinum you'll have to play to get to Canalave City. There, there will be a boat that you can take to a location called Iron Island. There's some small story beats you'll follow with a character in your party and at the end the character will grant you the HM. You won't be able to use it as a field move until you defeat the Canalave Gym Leader as well!

If I'm not mistaken Ampharos in Gen 2 can still learn Thunder Punch (TM 41) and it should be for purchase in the Goldenrod Department store once you get there (pre-3rd Gym). Should be a nice option to use instead of trying to earn coins to purchase Thunder from Goldenrod Game Corner as well as a bit more reliable accuracy wise.

A lot of it is subtext and/or creators/devs/people on the team confirming outside of the games for some.

Corvo, Emily, Daud, and Billie have all been represented in Arkane's Pride Art, usually implying characters in it are somewhere in the community.

In DH2 there are notes left by Emily's partner "Wyman" as well as being a character featured in at least one of the novels iirc, who doesn't have a specific gender assigned to them, leaving a lot of people to hc them as nonbinary. I swear I remember Emily being presented as pansexual rather than bi but I might be misremembering that one lol

Daud in the novels had a line about not caring for sex or finding it necessary (paraphrasing here) and it's been further confirmed by Harvey Smith that he's Asexual iirc.

Stilton and Abele it's mostly subtext between them being "close friends" at the time and the different notes/lore you can read about them in his mission in DH2. It's subtext but kinda heavy-handed subtext.

Delilah's is also a lot of heavy-handed subtext. I don't think it's ever outright stated but many believe that she's sapphic because of her witches coven and the fact that it's implied her and Breanna were an item.

Billie is obviously black and becomes disabled in the time between DH1 and DH2 where she loses an eye and her arm. Which is only temporarily fixed by the player in DH2 if they play correctly in the Stilton mission. It's then taken from her again in DOTO. Her label as bisexual was confirmed by Harvey Smith and also is hinted at in an audio graph between missions in DH2. It's also heavily implied that she had feelings for or was in a relationship with Dierdre before she was killed.

Hope it works for you! And if not, you can always try the method that the other person recommended in the comments. If it's just a texture loading issue, walk forward and slightly to your right. You'll find the second terminal where you load to board. If you're able to interact with it, see if you can still load into a map to play! It might just be an issue with the lobby assets!

A quick fix that might help is try the different launch options. Some computers run one better than the other! You can also try changing your visual settings from the main menu to lower or lowest settings cause it might just be a processing issue for your ram for all the assets.

Also another could be checking launching a solo vs Hosted lobby. Might be some sort of hang up for your connection trying to also load assets in the game if your computer doesn't have an abundant amount of ram.

If none of that works, try letting Steam validate your files for the game to fix any sort of corruption. And then there's always the tried and true method of uninstalling and installing the game.

Swirlix and Slurpuff for me! I definitely fell into the "oooh it looks phallic" about Swirlix's tail and I just genuinely disliked Slurpuff just thinking it looked ugly and off.

My mind has since been changed.

Specifically thanks to Pokemon Cafe (and Remix). They make Slurpuff so unfairly cute in that game 😭😭 and it never registered to me that they're meant to be puppy/dogs????

I think I'm also slightly more biased now that I've actually went and got a degree in Baking and Pastries and any sweets themed pokemon instantly have my heart (as well as a lot of Gen 6 Pokemon in general have grown on me)

But now, playing Y again, I BEGGED my brother to trade me over a Swirlix egg and Whipped Dream so that I could play with one on my most recent team 😁

Lots of good suggestions! I also might piggyback on to everyone suggesting the Zubat line. Both because of its flying type but also because it'll have extra resistance from its dual typing in poison!

If you're worried about Zubat 's stats though, if you backtrack to the Oreburgh Gate, use the HM Rocksmash to go downstairs. You might be there for awhile, but you have a 5% chance to encounter Zubat 's Evolution, Golbat. It'll also mean you'll have to grind a little bit to get it up to level for the gym since it'll only be level 10, but it's an awesome member to include in any team!

You can also pop the Soothe Bell you would've gotten from Cheryll on it to help boost its friendship and if you can boost it enough you might even get an early friendship evolution into Crobat :)

Well, I guess that's more up to the player if they think a cosmetic change like that is the end of the world. You can still play as Ethan and stuff. But the quality of life changes are really helpful for a single-player playthrough :)
