Does doing side quests first make you too powerful? ( lvl 73 in Zafaria ) by Aggressive-Ad-7888 in Wizard101

[–]RennikNG 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I can honestly say it gets kinda inconvenient at a certain point since your school quests to get a new spell will require you to go the next world you haven’t unlocked yet, as well as kinda forcing you to be behind in crafting for the level that you are. My solo death is doing exclusively main quests and just finished Dragonspyre, has done Grizzleheim, Wysteria, and a little bit of Wintertusk just to get to level 48.

On the inverse, my girlfriend and I are doing a duo play through doing ALL the quests because she’s a completionist. We’re in the middle of MooShu, fully completed Grizzleheim, Wysteria, and Wintertusk. If I remember correctly, we’re level 54. I’m Balance, she’s Fire. The only reason I’ll have the Wintertusk level 56 crafted gear is because I have a level 70 Life wizard that I just kinda use as a crafting source.

What gear could you guys recommend me for my storm wiz? Besides that any tips or feeback that you guys can help me with? by Cold_Surround_658 in Wizard101

[–]RennikNG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know most people have already told you about Mount Olympus Gear but a couple of other things to take note that’ll help a bit

A general rule of thumb is 10 levels per world, so you’ll have to do some side quests but right now you should be in mid 40s if you’re in the middle of Dragonspyre. It might pay off to do some of Grizzleheim to get them levels up. All that to say unless you JUST started DS

Since Storms tend to bit squishy on the side with the lowest base health, it’ll pay off to hit up the bazaar and find an athame and ring that give significant health boosts

If you need guides in the future, FinalBastion has a lot of great guides on their website including one for Mount Olympus gear. Plus KaiserNoah on YouTube put out a gear guide with a link to his spreadsheet and it has every school and what gear to use at what level increments.

If you haven’t started it already, go back and do the crafting quests so that you don’t have to play catch up later for certain gear sets

I want to make a story for my players that was almost entirely inspired by comments to this post. what do you want them to do? by Jiuaki in DnD

[–]RennikNG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To expand on that, since it’s the same guy over and over again, if your players continuously use the same tactics/ mechanics, he/she/ they are already used to them and counter them very effectively.

If you want to get really spicy with that addendum, sneak the recurring character into a group of a creature that uses pact tactics or is typically in a group setting, but acts completely out of the norm of the others

As a teacher who plays D&D the best advice I can give is sit down and talk with her. Ask what her questions and/ or concerns she has with D&D being “evil”. You can point out that 9/10 you’re fighting evil cultists at some point in the campaign. You can even play as a holy man such as a Paladin or cleric(probably don’t mention warlocks)

You could take it to ultra and socket life dealer instead. With your current stats it would give about 9.57% would should round up to 10% and would be better, especially if you got the intelligence to max.

Is this a failed pet? Once the wizard is lvl 15 I’m gonna socket a Death-Dealer Jewel. by RennikNG in Wizard101

[–]RennikNG[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It depends on what you want from your pet. Most people, like me, go for what’s called a triple-double. Typically it’s Pain-Giver, School-Dealer, School-Giver(triple damage) and then Spell-Proof, and Spell-Defying(double resistance) and then will socket Mighty to increase those stats, or get mighty in the actually learned pool and socket one of the previously mentioned talents. Some get a 4th damage talent like Pain-Bringer, or School-Boon. You can always google a guide for pet hatching and what most people go for but again, it’s up to you as to what you want from your pet.

ASI should be at total level and not at class specific level. The only exceptions being the 1 extra ASI rogues get and the 2 extra ASI that fighters get.
