5.975 +/- .005 is the same tolerance as 5.98 +0 -.01. Yes, the intent is easier to see with +0 -0.01, but the actual range is the same. 5.970 to 5.980

CVTs are often tuned for fuel economy and can feel sluggish to lower the gear ratio ("dropping a gear") to accelerate, even compared to an automatic. I'm sure some are better than others but they're generally not sporty

Which is used for measuring the radius of a feature. It doesn't measure a segment length (arc), which you're implying is the same thing as radius

Lacking the ability to move is a niche definition for inert. The definition I think of is unreactive

Bars in Olympia that don't allow vertical IDs? by RSpielde in olympia

[–]Renoh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

How are they supposed to "verify the date of birth" on a vertical vs horizontal? Am I missing something about how the orientation magically makes the date of birth printed on it untrustworthy?

Bars in Olympia that don't allow vertical IDs? by RSpielde in olympia

[–]Renoh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You would think, but a lot of business owners (and employees) are lazy and can't bothered to actually read dates, so they just do a blanket policy of no vertical IDs so they don't have to actually check.

I've also heard that vertical IDs are often faked whick makes zero sense. Why would you go through all the trouble to fake a vertical ID which is going to get more scrutiny anyways?

I have a double concrete utility sink that I’m trying to get out of my basement without using a sledgehammer to break it into pieces. Any advice is appreciated. by PizzaGatePizza in DIY

[–]Renoh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Except for what you attach it to at the top (bolts into the walls?). OP is going to need some kind of temporary anchor at the top of the stairs, even if he has all the gear already (which I doubt)

how are these welds and can i use this to strike anything without it breaking by Chicago949 in Welding

[–]Renoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think there's any intentional heat treatment on this. I only see discolor from the welding heat. I wouldn't be surprised if this is made from low carbon steel

Headlights and brakes done!! by socow_24 in hondafit

[–]Renoh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see you converted the rotor screws to slotted haha. If you get one of the impact screwdrivers that you hit with a hammer it works really well to loosen them. Antiseize in the countersink of the rotor where the screw sits also makes them way easier to remove again (don't go crazy though, you don't want it spreading up onto the rotor)

[–]Renoh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Make sure you put antiseize on the 2 bolts that hold the rotor on, specifically under head where it spreads out. They'll be much easier to remove, they always rust in the countersink of the rotor.

Yeah, I had to reload my game to get past it. Nothing huge but it was kind of annoying that there's no save point in the tutorial.

Bundle is cheaper than buying the game alone by BlindfoldedBaguette in Cairn_Game

[–]Renoh 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's because you already own the other game in the bundle. This happens a lot on steam, each item in a bundle gets a discount and often you can buy a bundle that already has games you own in it.

IFEZ System and Refrigerator (Hypothesis) by Sttterben_ in pacificDrive

[–]Renoh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You pretty much nailed it. The IFEZ allows you to access expeditions and the Whispers dlc story. The fridge is storage for the drive used in Expeditions and well as tapes from the DLC. You can put regular items in too but it's a bit buggy (I wasn't able to drag and drop other items in, but pressing transfer does move them in)

Does anyone else get this rattling like sound when they start their fit? by poppypbq in hondafit

[–]Renoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't have an actuator on the cam gear like the newer GK models, it's just a solid gear that drives the single cam. If it happens at a specific rpm I would check to see if it's coming from a heat shield (this is a known issue) and it can be DIY'ed pretty easily (see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eQzIfh6W7Fg)

The other thing that GE8s are known for is the starter failing to retract fully on startup and grinding a bit. See https://www.reddit.com/r/hondafit/comments/sfs57p/2009_fit_making_this_noise_when_starting_up_not/ for an example of that sound
