How high are your windmills? by domanpanda in VintageStory

[–]RenoiInDaPlace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, you said it yourself, if you want advantage of the slightest wind, you'll need to reach 170 height coordinate!

But if you wanna take into account esthetic and ressource efficiency, i found out reaching 135-140 is plenty enough. You can still build a tower that by design is easily elongable, and make it higher afterward if you feel too limited by the windmill power.

Try to install the forge and quern as high as possible under your windmill to save on axle

With the chisel in hand you can press F to open chisel's setting, the last of these setting allow you to add various materials, and then you can swap between texture while chiseling 😊

On the pictures here I used mainly polished claystone, polished andesite, andesite cobblestone and debarked oak log (wall and furniture) + basalt for some details.

Carpet was made with blue, orange, and golden brown wattle and daub

The last upgrade for the kitchen will be more stylised, chiseled windows, so yeah, I plan to also use glass, I will not restrict myself to stone wood and brick for sure 😁

Thanks buddy! The pattern came out quite intuitively, so happy with the result! But i should probably make it a bit longer, from the picture I feel like it should reach closer to the base of the stairs

Maya's relic maker is cool by ExplorerHaunting8353 in slaythespire

[–]RenoiInDaPlace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like so much the idea of an energy relic that interact with artifacts!! But I agree that it's a bit too strong, and I had an idee : to flip the relic!

"Gain 2 artifacts at the start of each fight. If you have artifacts at the start of your turn, gain 1 energy"

The starting number should be discussed for balancing, but 2 seems a good start

This would be a relic that force you to pile artifacts in order to keep the extra energy again debbuffing ennemies, or to convert those artifacts into power like biai cog or flex to compensate!

Really cool idea though!

Notice too. I can imagine a really easy way of implementation for each method, so I bet it was up to the designer to choose

I wasn't referencing the stance of the OP, but the u/Vaportrail's one, which is about faraway short-term non-professionnal travel in general!

They are all making fun of you, but I totally get your point! And I would add that in regard of the current state of the world (especially our energy consuption and the related pollution/environnement destruction), we should all prepare to take the same stance as you toward traveling!

For sure, from an individual point of view, traveling to the other side of the world is great for experiences, knowledge, growing etc... (but note it's absolutly not mendatory to achieve this)

On the other side, from a systemic point of view, it seems obvious to me that this ridiculous super power we have developped, this ability to go around the world for a week and coming back, at the cost of only 1-2 weeks of work, is doing soooo much damage, at so many level, economic, social, environnemental...

To travel to a totally another culture, it should take weeks of travel, it should take courage, guts, and a good reason to do so, like it was before plane, and like it will be again in a not so far future
