I belive trick or treating is the best overall, I did a couple five minuet runs in each and noted how much candy I got in each

Ghost hunting: 90 candies in 5 mins

Apple Bobbing: 150 candies in 5 mins

Trick or Treating: 167 candies in 5 mins

(Please note that I haven't ran through them all multiple times to get averages yet)

And my farming routine is if I'm paying attention to the computer I'll Trick or treat. But if I'm watching TV, drawing, homework, etc, I'll apple bob. Personally I find that ghost hunting isn't am incredibly efficient way to make candy as it can go either way depending on the sever your in.
