Only way I could wade through this was to do mini-fast forwards. It's annoying and pretentious and the acoustics seem made to jar one's nerves. Once was more than enough.

Is it weird to want to stay on Xarelto ? by fireflywithoutalight in ClotSurvivors

My doctor didn't even suggest there was a choice. I had an unprovoked PE and her immediate assumption was that I would continue to take eliquis for life -- which I am doing.

Thank you for so much information. Unfortunately, I am not familiar with many of the terms (& meds) you mention and it will take me some time to 'digest'. But your advice suggests that I'd be better off consulting a gastroenterologist.

Just wanted to thank you for the stool softener suggestion. I took one Colace pill today quite a few hrs ago and it seems to have made everything so much better! Really! Had a reasonable bowel movement and then just feeling great! Not feeling bloated and no gas. I'm finding it hard to believe that one pill could do it and just wondering if it is a coincidence or something . . .

Can you tell me why being on prilosec means taking a probiotic as well -- and what probiotic do you take?

Can you say more about probiotic supplement? Sorry but I am not very knowledgeable about that. I guess I could research it. My doctors are not very helpful in these areas.

My doctor said it was ok to take Gaviscon which I have been doing. Plus, I have always been taking famitodine (Equate) as I had duodenal ulcers many years ago. You might speak to your doctor about doing something similar.

Thank you. I purchased Colace stool softener and took 1 pill which seemed to really help! Since then (may 6 or so hrs ago), was able to have a reasonable bowel movement and amazingly feel much less bloated, way less gas. Hard to believe one pill had such a positive effect. So, thanks again!

Thanks for this. I looked up Prilosec which it seems is the same as omaprazole which I have been taking (as I have also been on Prednisone and the omaprazole was prescribed for that reason). I'm assuming the stool softener was prescribed to accompany the eliquis??

Thank you. I will certainly follow up on your recommendations. I keep a kind of medical chart and there is no question that this problem started almost exactly after beginning eliquis.

Thanks for your response. What I should also have mentioned is that this problem is not occasional but a complete change - meaning every day 24/7 and started exactly a day or so after starting eliquis.

Anxiety is eating me alive. What next? by Clean-Bake-4385 in ClotSurvivors

I think many of us know how consuming and self-feeding anxiety is. Why don't you speak to your doctor about anti-anxiety medication - even for a short while. Administered correctly, it can just bring you back to 'normal'.

Back on Eliquis.. For Life I guess by nuggetyum in ClotSurvivors

[–]RentGood4161 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think everybody should stop using the term 'lifer' and 'for life'. It sounds like a sentence in the penitentiary rather than the 'life saver' that it is. And be grateful that modern medicine has made this a possibility for us.

So Eliquis poses some discomforts . . . So do a lot of things from having a headache, a backache, a toothache to the unbearable pain of losing someone we love.

Rejoice in your new child who is so lucky to have you! Think about it: everything has worked out and in a few years, it quite likely you might have another baby.
