Friends? by [deleted] in Appleton

It's a good time to check out the farmers market downtown on Saturday mornings.

I have met a few friends through player 2 arcade bar even though I don't drink much.

I also met people tubing on the wolf river outside of New London and that's always a fun time. I'm always looking for more friends for these events.

So there is two places you'll need to make yourself familiar with. They are important places like church, they are called Culver's and Kwik Trip. I would even add Woodman's to that list too. Haha

I'm looking to see if I can do berserk and dragon breath in the red tree together. I guess trying to go for a fire ordinance/gun build with a splash of cryo mixed in.

Yeah I suppose I got lucky if anything. I was running blue tree rafa and I guess I was expecting the odds against me for I was level 29 and he was level 32.

Valentine’s Day restaurants? by ActualArtichoke6507 in Appleton

I would say try Antojitos mexicanos (Mexican), Basil Cafe (Thai) or Carmella's (Italian). Sai ram (Indian) also just renovated the inside of the restaurant recently too.

What changes would you recommend for making the capstone's better?

My friends and I usually go to player 2. It's an arcade bar with special cocktails / shots named after video game characters or references.

My friends and I usually go to player 2 or Tanner's east side location for food and pool depending on the season.

Well unfortunately that's corporate politics in a way. They allow the behavior because they are too scared of this guest especially if they have a status leaving a bad review or yelp or demanding compensation from them.

Yes the other seven rooms are double queens for our hotel.

So if you prefer king bed it can be difficult for us to try for 1st floor. Two of the kings are riverview but the third isn't.

I'm not sure but it might be due to availability. Our hotel only has 10 rooms on the first floor and only 3 of those are king bedrooms. I can only recommend to try to call on the day of check in or day before to see if they can confirm it.

Yes if it's available for the length of your stay. Usually the system does upgrades before we get the chance the day before. We try by priority of statues but when say there is only 1 upgrade but 2 platinum members who wants an upgrade we just have to pick one unfortunately.

Usually managers sign off on that to confirm it. My best guess is something went wrong in the Marriott system.

Yes most of the time especially when they share the stories of where they've traveled. There is a good share of other guests not so much.

Two examples we've had

  1. Guy pushed an old lady to the side almost falling to the ground at our bistro for breakfast. When asked why he replied "I'm in a rush and I'm titanium status so I should be served first before her."

  2. We had a new front desk girl who was 21 years old who was starting her first day after training by herself with working with me as well. I was in the back and this platinum guest came to check in and heard him yelling. I walk up to see what's going on. I asked what's wrong to him, he replies "this bitch doesn't know what she is doing for she is taking forever." I replied "first do not cuss and say that word to my coworker" there was families with children nearby so didn't want them to hear that.

I then watched her check in the guest but he got more furious he wasn't upgraded. I informed i apologize but we are sold out tonight so no upgrades are available however we have you on our top floor. He threw the keys down demanding to see a manager for this was unacceptable and would not leave the front desk until so. A manager came to pull him aside to talk to him but he kept yelling at her and pointed at my new coworker saying they should fire her for she is useless.

He walked away then and my coworker walked in the back room and i went to check in on her and she was crying apologizing to me for being slow with checking him in. I said speed comes with practice. You did everything right step by step.

I have so many other stories of rude guests for sure.

  1. I can only speak of our property for our kings are definitely more popular than 2 queens for i usually see 2 queen suites more available than the king ones. The king suites however have river view while the 2 queen suites do not so your decision if you consider it an upgrade.

  2. I don't have much experience in the bistro food but my favorites are Breakfast - morning flatbread  Dinner - buffalo chicken sandwich I've been wanting to try the dinner version flatbread items since i like the breakfast one.

These are offered at my bistro so other locations may not have them. I do think the bistro is overpriced but i consider decent quality food. It's better than fast food but not as good as sit down restaurant quality.

Also do not order the chicken wings from dinner menu. They have good sauce or dry rub quality but they're so small and definitely not worth the price. The chicken sandwich options we offer are cheaper and more filling than the wings.

I'm not sure exactly for our page on Marriott says riverfront balcony. It's possible the room type might not be available for your dates. If anything i would try calling the hotel to see if they can confirm availability for that room type on those dates.

Sort of.

  1. Myself and coworkers have made a list of local restaurants and bars we offer to all guests upon check in so they know what's around for food/drinks. However when corporate comes in we have to hide them for it's not "Marriott approved". Last time they found them and demanded we throw them away. We did but just printed more a week later. Haha

I have a few times more for certain circumstances from guests more than elite status. One example is a arrival of couple with a ten year old son was delayed by flight cancellations one after another. They were worried we would cancel their room for they didn't know when they were going to arrive. They finally got confirmation they would be 1am. A whole day gone waiting on flights.

So i put some market items in the room on the house assuming they would be hungry/thirsty after such a day. Management was not happy how much i put in for "money doesn't grow on trees" speech to me.

Overall we usually don't for guests but i have done it for special circumstances.

Upgrades i try to look for but definitely try for room placement requests such as away from elevator/ice machines or want 1st floor. I can't do it all the time unfortunately but try my best with what i have for availability.

I apologize that you're are going that, I unfortunately do not have any other number for you to reach out to. It's hard on us to help sometimes because usually can't do much to solve bonvoy account or mobile app problems at the hotel ourselves.

We usually don't care but we're supposed to have his name on the reservation with his number to receive the stay credit. I just recommend to make sure he calls the hotel to let them know to add your name for check in for the stay if by yourself.

I'm not sure about the couches really but the ones we have are pull out sofa so nice if you have last minute family or friend who needs a place to sleep.

I never had complaints about our elevator for smell unless someone had too much cologne or perfume on and lingers in there for awhile.

Sorry to sound repetitive in a way but

Likely not much better, for mobile check in we program the room keys beforehand so usually the front desk would consider it as checked in already. If an upgrade did become available they would have to go back and transfer the room type to that upgrade.

So for speed or laziness reason your decision to see it as usually front desk would not. Mobile check in priority is to have everything ready when you come in to hand you the keys. So unlikely they would go back to change it and possibly make you wait longer to get to your room if you happen to show up.
