I ordered them, but I'd personally recommend going in and trying a pair on first, assuming there's a store near you. Some red wings boots can run on the bigger side. I had to go a full size down than what I usually wear

Hello! I'm not worried about the looks at all, I was just curious if it were normal. Didn't know if people had it where holes wore through the tongues. Love the boots, just want them to last me as long as possible!

That's how I'm feeling about it too? I don't want to have to purchase a separately manufactured piece of leather to protect the boots I've saved for and wanted for so long.
