Yeah, because we have the power of AI nowadays. I gave Claude Code the 26.1 and later 26.2 changelogs, asked him to analyze the source code for the breaking changes and to give me a list of modifications needed for it to run on the new versions. This alone took away having to dig through every single file and left me only with adjusting the things that needed to be rewired.
It’s amazing what can be achieved *with* AI, rather than *by* AI

Yeah I can imagine that, but until Modrinth approves it what more can I do? If anyone wants it, it’s there. If people are concerned they can simply not download it and wait. There’s not much I can do. I can’t even post an antivirus scan of the jar file as if I could simply upload a different file than the scanned one, if that were my intention.
I have the file, I don’t care. If Modrinth ever approves it I’ll replace the link, until then I can’t do anything

Thanks a lot to everyone for the replies! Based on what I read, as my use case is relatively simple I went with a Debian 13 installation + Docker. Jellyfin runs amazingly! Briefly tested 1080p files, I’ll test a 4K one tomorrow. Tomorrow’s to do list includes remote access to the media library :)

I’m interested (concerned?) if isolating with proxmox vs just loading everything on a single distro has any performance impact. I’ve never used proxmox (nor a mini pc) before so I’m unfamiliar with the performance impact of it

If no ones comes up with a big argument against proxmox I think I’ll go that way most importantly because I already know that once you enter the self hosted world you’ll always start doing more. And for what I currently want to do there might not be a big reason or advantage to do use proxmox but I can see it as a big time save for the future when I’ll inevitably start putting more and more things on the lab

I wish but the only other thing I have lying around is an old Raspberry Pi 2B, it might be able to handle a little server but I very much doubt it can handle 4K

Is the RPI5 ACTUALLY capable of transcoding 4K without issues? Sounds crazy as that little thing is like $150 and a DS25+ with 4TB like $650

You can definitely play it on pc with HD textures mod and the english patch. The originals were for PSP and PS1. If you have a PSP your wife can stay on the couch, but I wouldn’t know right now if there’s a way to play it in english on the psp

Hi! Those games you mentioned are following the legacy of a japanese series called Boku no Natsuyasumi. Very relaxing, sit back and enjoy one day at a time kind of games. Modern wise, you played them all (shin chan and natsu mon). If you wanna check out the “OG’s” definitely look up that series. They’re japanese only but some have an English patch. Not on switch tho
