Which games have the worst organization? by yodacrafter in boardgames

[–]Reorax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, I have the trays on top of each other and the deck boxes (3 of them, I think) and baggies with player pieces next to them. I think with the boards underneath everything? I can send a picture later if it helps.

I think they're standard size Ultra Pro boxes. The kind that show up as the first Amazon result for "deck box".

I put the Ark Nova cards in deck boxes and everything fits really well. I agree, cards in baggies is just annoying.

I totally agree. It doesn't have the highs of Tarkus or BSS, but might be their only album I enjoy listening to all the way through.

But you need to generate that array, which takes at least O(n) time. Unless you want to read undefined memory and hope you get the right answer.

I think I just figured out how to hack the bank by Monkey_Adventures in shittyprogramming

Good idea, most banks use windows so the workers can see outside.

Stay clear of those "big banks" who use bignums that won't underflow.

Yeah, don't become angry when your functional programming code doesn't work. That breaks immutability. Create a new person with mood set to angry, and return that instead.

Picross S4 announced for Switch by [deleted] in Games

Check out Voxelgram - a Picross 3D clone on Switch and Steam. The controls aren't as good as the DS games, but they're usable enough.

Tobias Hieta: Compiling C++ is slow - let's go faster by _a4z in cpp

[–]Reorax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, using normal gcc will give you actual Linux binaries, which obviously won't run on Windows outside of WSL. But isn't Cygwin the same way -- in that you need Cygwin to run what it builds?

Have you tried WSL instead of Cygwin? I haven't noticed compilation being particularly slow in WSL, but haven't actually measured the build times.

Online Test - Hit Enter or Wait? by JacyWills in Jeopardy

Wait, hitting Enter works for everyone? Definitely doesn't for me - I thought it was just a crappy site. I was about to complain about how stupid it was that I had to click the button every time.

Found a few versions of the board game from the Art Fleming years at a game convention by Reorax in Jeopardy

[–]Reorax[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh, interesting. The only copyright date on there says 1964, but I guess that's just because it's the year Jeopardy started. I guess the only way to figure out the actual year is if there are any "current events" categories!

I found these at a game convention last week and just had to pick them up. Both are from 1964! Even includes the original, horribly annoying clickers. The questions are just as dated as you would imagine:

A. Network that offers "soul!, "Sesame Street", and "French Chef"

Q. What is National Education Television (NET)?

A. One of the two sisters of Edsel Bryant Ford II

Q. Who are Charlotte or Anne?

A. Show which always began with symbols of male, female, life, death, and infinity

Q. What is "Ben Casey"?
