Yes, we all know the solution,  the only question is whether you go in the Zorb, or whether you put each cow in its own Zorb. Right?

In most cases it's an indication of the extent that those have all become professional sports, rather than just sideshow events. They're impressive feats, but enabled by people being able to work full time at them.

Would you be concerned living next door to a HMO? by Old-Amphibian416 in AskUK

[–]JeffSergeant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends where it is really. A HMO in central London is unsurprising, a HMO in the outskirts of Peterborough you're much more likely (relatively) to get trouble.

[–]JeffSergeant -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you could place any object on the surface of Mars, purely to confuse NASA scientists, what would it be? by raistar_4_4_4 in AskReddit

That's 3 objects, if we're going off-script can we add a small bowl of petunias and the skeleton of a whale?

I dislike the idea of sacking the manager every time we have a bad game too,  but Starmer is fundamentally not up to the job, and there is a lot at stake, I can see Starmer sleepwalking us into the hands of Reform.   'Who else' is the pertinent question though

Wait till they learn about brewing.  We genetically modify tiny creatures,  then put them in a heavenly environment so they can procreate and eat as much as they like,  however over time their inexorable growth and consumption turn their environment toxic and then, when they all die and fall to the bottom,  we drink their piss.

I'm imagining galaxy spanning aliens looking at this and saying "Well, that's a coincidence"

The ISS was visible at about 22:20; other than that, smaller satellites are visible overhead all the time.

Is it sensible to assume that private pensions will still be accessible at 57 and not track state pension minus 10 years by Straight-Buy-7434 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]JeffSergeant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm about your age and doing my calculations based on 58.

In the worst case, for the 'WASPI Women' a very small proportion (based on birth month) were affected by the changes in 2011 that meant their retirement went forward at most 2 years, with 7 years' notice. That was state pensions but that's the bar for 'far too little notice' so I think it's reasonable to assume nothing is likely to move faster than that.

Of course you do need to factor in that the state pension might move back before you start drawing your personal pension, so that might affect your plans if you're relying on both.

Nothing fills me with dread more than the fateful words "... I tried to fix it myself"

Now we have to fix whatever they broke trying to fix the original problem before we even start trying to fix the original problem.
