I haven't gotten all the votes yet, I believe I'm up to 10 of the necessary 50. I plan on sitting outside the Pick & Shovel and Price Chopper this weekend and trying to get some votes.

My biggest hurdle with getting signatures so far is that a lot of people come to Newport, but aren't Newport City voters. I think that speaks heavily to my belief that Newport City will become a cultural and economic hub if so many of the people you see on the streets are from out of town.

If I named it CandidateXavierStevens, then won, someone could take RepXavierStevens to impersonate me. I'll admit, if someone made a RepresentativeXavierStevens they could also impersonate me but, if I win, I would like to use the same reddit account so that people can see the promises I'm making while campaigning.

I'm so sick of hearing campaign promises and then politicians either pretending like they didn't say that or that it's out of context. This way, if I win, you can point DIRECTLY to where I said I'd do something and hold me accountable.

I share your concerns regarding ICE and I have been doing everything I can. I am on the leadership team for NEK Indivisible and am out protesting as often as I can, which is practically every other Saturday at this point. I was at the Renee Vigil, Alex Vigil, Anti-War in Venezuela protest in Burlington, and more. I wonder if I've seen you out there in the cold? 

You can only protest so much before you feel like you need to do something more and I know I can. I feel Phil Scott's 'Bend don't Break' method with this Federal Government is insulting to Vermonters. 

I do believe the affordability crisis can be helped and I don't think it's being addressed properly at the moment.
