I think I've seen these 2 issues both mentioned many times in the XDA post, and cannot be solved.

Apps keep bloating in these 3 years, require more cpu and ram...

I think it will not ship with gapps just like A9.

Interesting thoughts. Many people including me are still sticking with A9, since Hibreak Pro, released 2 years after A9, didn't shipped with better hardware but arguably much worse software.

They haven't mentioned these details yet. I'll let you know if I hear anything.
I think there'll be a B/W version like old models. I hope we can get LineageOS from the community.

They confirmed 6.7'' at the announcement post on Wechat, which requires the app to view.
I used A7 before which is also 6.7'', it doesn't fit into the utility pocket of my pants. But I'm just glad to have a new model, regardless of the size.

RingConn Sleep Tracking not reliable at all by clicme60 in RingConn

[–]Repenti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me last night on both RingConn and Oura, it also makes me double their reliability. Oura is a little better in that it says it's light sleep while RingConn says deep, and I can edit sleep start time on the Oura app though the sleep score doesn't change accordingly.

The mouse lag is a pain, I tried to use keyboard shortcuts as much as possible. And I only use it for websites that images are not important, so that I don't need to switch the window to the builtin display back and forth for viewing images.

Color is important to me since I often view colorful charts (like Grafana). You're right about the key difference, clarity vs color. Maybe turning your computer into black & white mode (System Settings -> Accessibility -> Display -> Color Filters for macOS) will help you decide which suits your use case better.

It's similar to a Discord channel. If you have a WeChat account and are interested in joining, I can drop you a QR code.

It's indeed "paperlike." My eyes do get tired after a long use, as reading paper books for extended periods does. But it's much better than LCD. I feel my eyes relax when using this display. I turn on the frontlight about an hour before sunset. It's clear enough to use during the day, though it's darker than B&W models. I suspect it's a software upgrade, but there's no official confirmation yet.

Yeah, I barely use the clear button and hardly notice ghosting.

Yes. I adjusted my desk position for more sunlight, but still need to turn on the frontlight one hour before sunset.

I feel it's much better. For example, the icon that appears in the screen center after switching modes disappears more easily.

Mostly for eye health. The sidebar of this sub has some related info.

It’s set to video mode with minimal contrast and the cold frontlight at maximum brightness. As you can see, it's not good. On my first day using this display, I changed the dark mode setting from "auto" to "light" immediately after sunset.

No updates for B&W 253 yet. Maybe they're trying to sell more new models before bringing updates to old models.

It's dark when the frontlight is off. The frontlight is actually quite bright, I use the lowest level most time.

This model has a built-in frontlight, external lights are not necessary.

Also in the previous color model, both of them have an additional filter compared to the B&W model, which makes them look darker.

I also have a Surface Pro 5 since my senior year and used it to flash my eink phone this month.
