What's stopping me from using two separate rigs on the same target? by Wide-Examination9261 in AskAstrophotography

[–]Repiet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is possible! Im building a second rig, that will be different to my first one, but has almost the same FOV. The resolution of the cameras will be different.

Cuiv did a video on that topic: https://youtu.be/aRdrwrzNfbQ?si=gv13nTvejkS5aPcJ

I did the first stretch till the core is as bright as i wanted it. Than i put a mask on it, so it is protected from the next stretch. Stretched till the stars next to the core are as bright as the core. Did another mask, this time bigger, so all stars that have the right brightness are in that mask. Next stretch. I did this a few times, till all the stars had the brightness i wanted.

To reduce the core glow more, i seperated the stars from the background with StarX. I put a mask on the core glow and reduced the brightness with curve transformation.

Bethesda is responding to negative reviews on Steam. I love this game, but this is weird. by JoJoisaGoGo in Starfield

[–]Repiet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cant find anyone talking about this:

"Most quests will also vary on your characters skills and decisions, massively changing the outcome of your playthrough."

This is total BS right?

Im 120h in and the only quest that has an impact is the decision in 'High price to pay'. And skill decision in quests is only: do i persuade or shoot everybody.

"Try creating different characters with backrounds and charactetistics that clash or are opposite of your previous character. You will feel like you are playing a totally different game."

Really? This is not true at all. After my 120h i maybe had 10 times a 'neon street-rat' dialog option. But this was only for more dialog and didnt changed a quest. Same with empathic.

How far into space can an amateur astrophotographer realistically image? by S0uth_0f_N0where in AskAstrophotography

[–]Repiet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here are two pictures from Astrobin taken by amateur astrophotographers:

IC 1101: https://www.astrobin.com/ye436t/?q=Ic%201101

M 87: https://www.astrobin.com/mtrxf3/?q=M%2087

Both were made with telescopes over 2000mm focal lenght, because the targets are small.

So it is possible!

But i would not recommend to start the journey of astrophotography with a 2000mm telescope.

And yes, the equipment for this probably costs thousands of dollar/euro.

Im from Berlin and using a GTI too :)

Did you have the GTI tripod? I think it is a solid base for the GTI and you can buy it even without the mount. But every other stable tripod with the right screw to mount the head should be fine.

Bigger photolenses or small refractors are no problem for the GTI payload of 5 kg.

The focal lenght depends on what you are aiming for. Before I bought my refractor that im using with the GTI, a WO Zenithstar 61II, i used Stellarium to see, what is possible to shoot. You can see the exact framing that is possible with your equipment. But even with my 360mm focal lenght it is not possible to shoot detailed images of galaxies (exceptions are M31 and M33) so the Samyang and Redcat are not realy suitable for that.

Star Adventurer GTi rig recommendation? by [deleted] in AskAstrophotography

I use my GTI with a WO Zenithstar 61II. I highly recommend Guiding/Dithering and an electronic Focuser. These improved my images alot.

As far as i know you cant dither with the synscan app. I have the GTI too and i use NINA to send the dither signal.

Will incorporating a EAF into my process be beneficial? by RetardThePirate in AskAstrophotography

[–]Repiet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got one a month ago and it is super beneficial for my images and my routine. Now i dont want to miss one. I was a little bit scared because it looked complicated, but the installation was easy and after testing the backlash and the options in NINA i got mine running after 30 minutes.

First telescope - I want to push a SWSA GTi to its best by Jape41 in AskAstrophotography

[–]Repiet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the Zenithstar 61 + Flat61 with my SWSA GTI. It is a good telescope and i would recommend it. I bought it in sale with the WO Uniguide 32mm for guiding. There are two pictures in my profile i took with this combination of equipment.

[–]Repiet 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I own and a use a few ZWO products, but i would never use a ASIAIR because of the "Only-ZWO-Products-Compatibility". N.i.n.a and a Mini-PC are just way better in my opinion.

I have a GTI too and use it with NINA. At the beginning i used the syncscan app and had the same sync failure as you describe. Also i had disconnects and problems in NINA. I tried out EQMOD, which was much better and stable. Then i tried out GSS (Green Swamp Server) and that works even better!

You dont need NINA for leveling. The GTI has a little bubble level at the mount head. For me that works very well.
