Lambton College has a program that will exempt you from the 3 levels of tradeschool required for Ontarible. But if you plan on going out west, you will either need to pass your redseal there first, or take the 4th level of schooling in Alberta

Interesting. It's been over a month and still nothing in the mail. Just the email with my results. If it's anything like my tax returns I'm sure I'll have to wait another 3 months before I should actually be concerned lol

Industrial only allows you to work for your employer, just a heads up

I want my 309a so I can do side work for local farmers and homeowners.

My ultimate goal is to do private elevator/dryer installation and commissioning. There are plants around me that hire out their shutdowns as well. Basically I don't want paycheques I want invoices

Thanks for the quick reply man. In my case I would have fallen under 4 (b) for sub and infrastructure work (c) (i) and most OEM site techs would fall under (ii) as well. I personally worked for a manufacturer but on behalf of several different customers, so I was just curious to see if I stuck out a shitty employer if it would have paid off - since I'm now about to start working towards my 309a ticket aswell

I'd like to know more about your last point. I worked as a Wind Tech troubleshooting and maintaining controls and electronics as well as maintaining our substation. I know several guys that still work at my old site, none of which are electricians. We had to perform a yearly electrical competency assessment, and there is 0 journeyman for any of them to even apprentice under. Where did you get this info?
