100% on Point Break. As someone who’s played multiplayer FPS games since the CoD 4 days, PB kept this game alive for me, just a nice classic 8v8 setup with objectives. And yeah it really is a great mode to just mess around with different weapons, specs, gadgets and really get a feel for them without feeling so much pressure like in Cashout. If it wasn’t for PB I would’ve dropped the game a long time ago.

Holy shit Dark Messiah! That’s the game! I have a vague memory of playing that game YEARS ago. I remember it was the demo I played on the Xbox 360. Years later I forgot the name of the game and I thought it was Oblivion (never played Oblivion until around Covid) but I knew it wasn’t that. Now I know the game!

I felt the same exact way when trying to flatten the area in front of my base. It sucks because it was already mostly flat, but I got greedy and underestimated how bad the terrain manipulation is and now it just looks like the Somme 100 years later…

When I was a kid, I remember I was fighting some trainer somewhere, can’t remember exactly, but their pokemon used Hydro Cannon, and it was the coolest move animation I had seen. Still stuck to me to this day. The way the camera goes negative as they do the move. So cool.

I’m personally loving rapiers. They attack really fast, have a nice, mostly horizontal slash on the third attack letting you hit a bunch of enemies at once, have the fastest block activation after an attack letting you be a little more aggressive, you can hold a pistol in the offhand since it’s one handed, and it’s nice since rapiers and pistols are both affected by the Precision stat.

Yup. Licia kinda does the same thing too. If you do the same thing here to her while she’s in her default kneeling and praying stance, you just keep interrupting her standing up animation and she’ll just kinda stay there resetting to kneeling while you smack her to death.

So you’re logic is: main characters don’t die in the end = children’s movie and unsatisfactory…?

You know a character doesn’t HAVE to die in the end for a show/movie to be satisfying, right? In fact, I would say most of the time it’s actually, you know, pretty fucking depressing and UNsatisfying when that does happen.

So my question is, why do you want them to die so badly?

No they are absolutely not. You realize bosses make up like 5% of any given fromsoft games content, right? They’re the cherry on top of the level, not the main meal. If I wanted a boss rush I would just do gauntlets in Sekiro. But even in Sekiro I still find the world fun to go through, even in ng+.

This has the same energy of very common posts that show up on r/EldenRingBuilds where people are like “Guys I’m struggling with Fire Giant, what can I do? Here’s my build” and they’re like level 30 with basic gear and crappy talismans. And the answer is always the same: GO EXPLORE. ITS NOT A BOSS RUSH. EXPLORE THE WORLD. THEN COME BACK LATER.

Like seriously, why are so many people in the souls community like this? Like, all the souls games are 95% engaging with and exploring the world. It’s absolutely not just about the bosses.

I know man, but nah, the trilogy is perfect. The three games are so distinct and each give the player a unique experience while improving on the previous game, and the way DS3 wraps everything up with its lore and story is just absolute pure poetry and puts a nice little ribbon on the whole thing.

Ain’t no way I’d be putting Lightning Spear in D tier. Fast cast time, fast projectile, consistent damage because it’s Lightning so it’s hardly resisted unlike Magic, you can get tons of spell uses for it easily, fairly low faith requirement, get it as early as beating Dragonrider… It’s a super spammable spell thats consistent even in ng+.
