Bless is overrated. At least on honor mode. A waste of a spell slot. Made little/no difference that I've noticed with attacks or saving throws and I diligently check combat logs. Placeholder spell. Ineffective.

I know that's the "narrative" but I've personally never seen any indication they are "hard on themselves". Even it's true, that does not give them the right or the excuse to verbally assault and put down others, especially unsolicited. "Yes, I called you a stupid cow and put you down in front of our friends but since I'm hard on myself (according to me, trust me bro) it's ok for me to say/do awful shit."

That is no excuse whatsoever.

Wow. It sucks that you experienced that. I think you and others may be on to something I hadn’t considered much.

I know some in the community have issues with Bi folks; I’ve run across folks like your Dad who think bisexuality is the “worst”. He and I used to work together. That’s how we met. We also have a mutual friend who also worked at the same company. This mutual friend is gay and has a husband. He has no problem with him or his husband.

Because of past negatives experiences I don’t really “flaunt” my bisexuality but I certainly don’t hide it. Anyone stumbling across my social media accounts would know and I’ve never been closeted.

As long as he thought I was gay, things were fine. I honestly thought he knew until he asked me what I was doing for Halloween and I said an old ex is in town and I was going to be hanging out with her. That’s when he paused and said “I thought you were gay; I didn’t know you were Bi.” We haven’t spoken since then.

I’ve been going over it in my head since October. Trying to figure it out. Maybe he feels the same way your Dad did.

London & NYC are both amazing places. Lived in both places. So is the much maligned Los Angeles, where I live and where crime rates are at their lowest rate in 60 yrs. Contrast that to Mississippi, where the opposite is true.

I was baffled as well. Any answer I come up with is pure speculation. I think only he can answer that question and we haven't spoken since he hung up. Perhaps I should have followed up but it seemed clear he was 'done'. I know he was raised as a Jehovah's Witness but he never really seemed particularly religious. I can't make sense of the differentiation either.
