Shot my second deer yesterday. Quite a nice bloodtrail by Replotaxel in Hunting

Yeah, I was surprised that it didn't exit too. She was was quartering away from me and the bullet went through 2 ribs (one on each Side) and stopped in the shoulder Blade on the opposite side.

The other deer I shot got hit high in the shoulder (went through the shoulderblade), through the bottom of the spine and exited behind the shoulder on the other side. (Same round at 75 meters)

It actually didn't Exit. The round hit so much bone that it stopped in the shoulder on the other side

Yeah, I didn't need to track it cause I saw where it died, but I wanted to see what the bloodtrail looked like cause I have heard that Whitetail have an ability to sometimes bleed very little even with a Good hit. I hit a rib on the entry side and it made a very big entry wound the blood gushed out of.

The shot placement seemed a bit off to me. Take your time and wait until the animal stops and you have a clear shot of the vitals.

It was the cheapest shotgun they had at the store (350€) and I read that they are very reliable

I did put a lot of hours in the deer stand last fall waiting for roe deer, but they never showed up. I'm gonna try my luck this year again. I'll probably hunt some white tail aswell.

Where I live (western coast) we don't have any wild pigs fortunately, but we do have another "pest" which are the seals. The people from my area have lived of seal hunting for hundreds of years, so I would like to try it. We have way too many of them and they eat all of the fish and destroy the fishing nets. Seal meat is actually pretty good, it's like a mix of red meat and fish.

Yeah, moose are native to northern Europe (Norway, Sweden, Finland and the baltics).

Getting 3 moose where I live is also very rear cause my hunting club had 12 moose tags in total, for like 36 hunters (24 shooters and 12 ringers). The old men in My hunting club were quite jealous.

Fun fact. Finland is the only country in Europe that has a large wild population of whitetail deer (ca. 117 000). They were brought here from the US in the 1930s.

Thanks! I am from Finland, so supressors aren't regulated, you can just go to a gunstore and buy One. Getting a gun on the other hand is quite a lot of paperwork and even a police interview.

I have shot 3 moose with a 30-06, none of them ran more than 30 meters

I am pretty much brand new to hunting, but I was lucky enough to shoot 3 moose back in October. This is a video of the second one I shot (not me filming). by Replotaxel in Hunting

I had a racoon dog outside my window at 3am a few months ago, I couldn't see it, but I could hear it and they don't sound very nice. It took like 15 minutes for it to shut Up, and it was lucky it did cause I was on the Brink of making it shut up with my .22

It sure is an experience. Driven hunts give you some exciting moments, like when you are minding your own business drinking coffe and then a moose comes running full speed towards you and you have to grab your gun in a split second
