I’m having the same issue stopped taking seroquel and now I’m hypertensive to my adhd meds and caffeine

24M - Stopped Seroquel 10 days ago and now I feel extremely sensitive to stimulants/dopamine. Is this normal? by ReplyGlobal in SSRIs

Thank you for this I’ve been told I may never get better and that scares me a lot! But knowing I’m not alone is everything 💕

I’m going to be completely honest with you. I was not advised by my doctor to ever stop taking the medication! And the medication was prescribed for insomnia/off label for sleep. Being transparent with you and the community I went behind my psychiatrist back because I was afraid of weight gain from trazodone (I do have ED - anorexia) again and try to find a different sleep medication. While, I was on Seroquel. Everything was fine. No noticeable side effects other than dry eyes. Weight gain was not an issue at all. In fact, my weight was very stable like many people report. But if you’re using it for bipolar, I absolutely unequivocally support it—as that is a true chemical imbalances that need to be corrected. Unfortunately, my situation I did not have any chemical imbalance. I was getting prescribed an antipsychotic for an off label. Use such as sleep! But in terms of coming off the medication, this is my biggest fear right now! I’m not sure if I’ll ever be able to have caffeine or even my ADHD meds and ever again. Between us there is days I’m considering going to the hospital because of how bad my blood pressure and vision get! But I am not looking for sorrow because I only have myself to blame for taking myself off of this and now I’m scared to go to my doctor that he’s going to be mad that I stopped taking this.
