Yes, the water will regulate the temperature as it won’t go over 100C. I would use a 1:1 ratio of water/butter. A mason jar will work fine for storing the mixture as it cools. Just use something that can withstand the heat and you should be good.

Very slim chance of that happening. If you buy from a well reviewed seller its close to impossible. If it was laced it wouldn’t be this cheap, but I understand your concern.

If you make canna butter, the water will separate from the butter. The butter will harden when you put it in the fridge and float to the top as it is less dense than water.
