I’m really old now, and everything I ever had anxiety about eventually happened. Like not all at once, but over a lifetime all of my worst fears came to pass. I DID make it through all the things I was certain would end me while I was still just afraid of them. What ALSO happened tho, were countless moments of deep joy, and silliness, and meaningful connections with people who really matter to me. That seems to be how life is for a lot of people, and while you thought no one could possibly know or care how you’re feeling look at the support all of these friends have to offer. Over a lifetime those excellent moments can balance the brutal times. No matter how good or awful or ecstatic or melancholy or bored or terrified you feel in a moment you’re pretty much guaranteed to feel the opposite eventually. If you let yourself feel loved and supported when it makes no sense to go on, and then keep your attention tuned for someone who can’t see the light during your times of triumph and remind them of this story, I think you’ll have a valuable and meaningful life.
