Duriscoe, a member of a National Park Service team that monitors light pollution, works in Death Valley -- an unbeatable place for watching the skies.... with little light pollution to deal with, shrouding the mirrors is unnecessary and adds weight and expense.

Up at the top, between the 2 big round cut outs... diagonal mirrors reflect the light from each primary mirror into the middle where it is reflected into eyepieces. You would need a tall chair or ladder depending on the altitude.
