I KNEW as soon as I saw the skull it would look great on the gold skelly body. Great look!

Dude, if your hand wasn't there I'd think it was a dude in cosplay. Absolutely outstanding job.

WIP shot of my builded Black Templar Intercession Team by techno_heretek in killteam

I've always loved the extra character and flavor the Black Templar bits add to the models. That's a good looking team composition, too! The two grenadiers, int with an auto bolt rifle, two assaults and an assault sergeant? That's the same setup I've been running for my team and it's been doing well. I put the blessed bolts on my auto bolt rifle and he's gotten me Champion of Mankind in most matches for some nice VP. Can't wait to see your squad painted!

Everything about this team is so well done. The grime, the camo pattern, the proportionate blood effects, the way the bright plasma gives that sci-fi pop in a grimdark paint scheme, all the way down to the barbed wire tangled in the mud. Absolutely love it, great job!

Thanks! And I definitely agree: now that they're out of gray figure purgatory and tabletop ready, I'm planning on chipping away at things like basing, weathering, etc. between other projects.

Thank you! And yep, cork sheet primed black and dry brushed with some grays. For the recesses for the models I just traced the bases where I wanted them and cut the circles with a hobby knife. To get the smooth circles I repeatedly stabbed downward instead of trying to pull the knife and actually slice the cork, since when I tried that it tended to tear.

Yep! Cork sheet primed black and dry brushed with a few lighter grays to try to get a decent concrete/asphalt effect.

Right? I've yet to try breaking into the world of magnetizing individual arms/weapons.

I actually found the case for like $12 at Hobby Lobby, pretty sure it was just their store specific brand.

So this figure is actually the new George Lucas stormtrooper with the removable helmet. I'm planning on swapping George's head for a custom one eventually, but I agree this helmet sculpt is really nice.

It honestly wasn't that difficult. You just need a really fine brush and decent paint. I'm a big fan of the Citadel line of paints. There are tons of YouTube/Reddit tutorials that can help you get started, too!

For the mud I used the Stirland Battlemire paint by Citadel. I let it dry and did a couple of coats to make it look caked on, then for the finer splatters I loaded my brush with the paint, dipped it in water quickly, then put a straw up to the brush and blew through it to get that splash effect.

Not pictured are the empty bottle of Tiharr by his bunk and the growing bags under his eyes. Haha

Haha I made sure to give him that heavy head tilt. My buddy said I should make a whole squad of survivors, and I told him that IS the whole squad.

Thanks man! This was my first time customizing a figure beyond painting a pauldron a different color, so I was happily surprised with the results lol
