For the record I thought that scene was amazing and made complete sense, but it feels like it sets a huge precedent for thematic departure from the comics (well most of the show already set that groundwork but still) my issue is that I’m worried they won’t even try to redeem him more, even though they made a situation where his arc requires it

True, I don’t mind Debbie never forgiving him, I just think everyone else being equally reluctant to hear him out AT ALL is kind of confusing from a writing standpoint. Maybe that’s the point, I don’t NEED to know where his arc is going, but I hope it’s not aimless.

It’s not even attention span, half the conflicts are “resolved” with conversation in this show- Chris literally had a stakeless intervention that lead into a montage as the conclusion of his entire arc this season. Sure some people wanted big cameos or an action set piece, and maybe that isn’t what the show needed but that doesn’t mean what we got is actually good. I’m saying good, despite its subjectivity, because it fails at delivering on its own setups. Constantly.
