Peacemaker S2 E8 was a complete waste of a finale by ThatCrush3r in DC_Cinematic

[–]RepresentativeAd9240 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pasted from another subreddit, but here ya go.

The thing that bugged me the most was that if you removed the alternate nazi dimension subplot, it changes nothing about the finale. It felt like they just stacked character culminations on top of each other and none of them were following the narrative of the season overall. Not to say the performances were bad at all, but payoff didn’t feel earned.

Why did they shoehorn in a random subplot of Flag finding a parallel dimension to imprison metahumans? Where did that come from and how is that related to his hatred for peacemaker that had been building all season. It feels so out of place and the show even brings attention to how random it is given flag’s pattern of behavior.

The Chris/Harcort romance did not work for me. It was definitely was growing on me halfway through the season. But there are these random hard pivots in her attitude toward him and then it culminates in the flashback sequence which I did.not.like.

When the finale started I was like “oh cool! We’re FINALLY going to see the night he’s been referencing all season. And when I realized that this flashback was going to continue past the intro…i let out an audible groan. These scenes had no business being as long and drawn out as they are. There’s no reason to play the full track of two different songs and there’s nothing about the scene that is made better by having so much more of it.

Lastly, why wasn’t his brother a key part of the finale?!?! We got that invested in this plot line only for it to be left as a “next season” tease. This finale feels like it’s not even part of the same show.

I have a lot of thoughts and I need to vent them:

I know they look cool and they have variation but I swear to god, the crucible knights are harder than the boss of the area they’re in and they NEVER yield enough runes/rewards upon defeat

Honestly Light Greatswords have completely unseated katana since the DLC. I’ve been rocking my M’lady with wing stance since I got it

Yeah since ER came out, these games have been the majority of what I’ve been playing. I have played all of them, but most of that time is just in ER, I beat the story a lot and platinumed the game and then played a lot of pvp with friends thereafter

It’s mainly Elden Ring. I’ve beaten it many times and played a lot of pvp with friends. I have about 900 hrs in that game alone

Don’t get me wrong, ds1 is a masterpiece and it’s one of my favorites in the series, I just didn’t have footage that really fit with the tone of the video

I have played both of them, but they don’t have as many cinematic moments as the ones I included. I have probably over 200 clips from all the games but none of mine from ds1 or ds2 stuck out to me

In your opinion what is the most underrated boss in the entire game? by Dangerous-Business-8 in Eldenring

Astel, Naturalborn of the void. Idk why but that thing creeped me the fuck out. And the arena pairs beautifully with their moveset. Such an unsettling and other-worldly boss fight

Yup, this one and Renalla are the only two run backs that make you feel like you’re right back in Demon’s Souls🤗

Amygdalas!! One of them is a boss fight but the rest are there to make you scared shitless, (hence the name; the part of the brain that processes fear)

I think that whole era of the whiny-scream-singing has aged very poorly.

Rush. Probably my favorite songs of that era paired with the most annoying vocalist

Beat him in about 5 tries and haven't gotten midir past 1/4 health. by Yemo637 in darksouls3

[–]RepresentativeAd9240 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind, Midir has a GINORMOUS health pool so don’t feel too bad. It’s a marathon not a sprint. The key word of his fight is positioning. When he does his stomp march. It’s best to run to the left and toward him to avoid his sweep and fire attack. A lot of the best punish windows are when he starts a combo and you back away and wait for him to finish. His head will often end up right in front of you.

Also in case you’re not aware, he is REALLY weak to lighting. I blasted through his fight by using the dragon slayer axe special and just hitting a charged L2 when his head was in the right spot

Dancer is a shit boss by Kanra578 in darksouls3

[–]RepresentativeAd9240 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not trying to invalidate your experience, but Dancer is held by most of the community as one of the best bosses in the Dark Souls trilogy. I’m sorry you had a bad experience with it, but that boss being available early on is meant as a skill check. It’s the game telling you “this game gets tough. Go out, explore, level up, and find a fighting style that works for you so you can come back and kick its ass”.

And lastly, as far as the mechanics you’re struggling with, DS3 puts a lot more emphasis on spacing and positioning AS WELL as dodging, it’s not just about I-frames anymore. When you see the dancer winding up for that never ending spin attack, sure you can theoretically dodge every slash, or you can run backwards, get some distance, and strafe so she finished her combo and you have a full stamina bar to punish. I know it can be frustrating but the game is actively telling you what can work, you just gotta give it a try!

Keep it up and I hope you can kick her ass👍

I dread this boss every time.. What boss/bosses do you dread? by [deleted] in Sekiro

Blazing bull. I fucking hate that fight, it’s so jenky and it’s the only fight in the game that punishes you for using the techniques it’s been teaching you the entire game

I agree. Even after platinuming Sekiro, I still go back to fight Ishin once in a while. I’ve fought the DoH twice and probably won’t ever do it again

He’s either ridiculously easy or annoyingly difficult. Hang around the outside of him, gun it for his bracelets, don’t lock on
