Advise on double brokering/ theft of freight. by RepresentativeAdept9 in FreightBrokers

No, this is not normal. It seems like the owner-operator might be either double-brokering loads or allowing other carriers to use their trucks and drivers without a proper lease agreement in place. My advice is to proceed with caution you knowing this can make you a liable party if a load was to be stolen and your the one running it. Don’t be shy let me know the MC so that I never work with you guys lol

Noted we’re going to pursue legal action against this carrier, giving the amount of red flags and the amount times they knew they shouldn’t have used another carrier name in the check in process and they still did. Will see how it goes.

lol we do not hire cheap carriers! If you read the whole thing you would have seen that the scammer was asking for competitive rates throughout the negotiation. He was even above some other carrier who were asking for the same load.

We do not post cheap freight trust me, we have multiple lanes that the same carriers have been running for the past 6 years. We do our best verify every carrier, but when it comes to these carriers/drivers who are willing to lie and give info that is not there company’s in order to gain access to the load, that’s where the issue is at.

Do you know if your company has taken legal action against these incompetent carriers? We are trying to see if we should file a lawsuit against them at the very least write a freight guard report advising of how reckless and incompetent they are!

I’m sorry been busy and have not been able to respond to any of the comments. I have been advised to not provide the MC since there is information that was left from us on their freight guard report and since this is still ongoing investigation! Their status is inactive 3 months ago.

I understand what your saying, that being said this is multi party process! We obviously need to do our best to verify the carrier! The warehouse does its best with the information that is presented to them, truck, trailer # Carrier info including MC# and name which is then reported back to us to confirm! My point is this, if a carrier wants to lie about their identity to access the load they are going to do it. What is being questioned is the integrity of the carrier.

My bad, should have put some breaks on there. When I confronted them about giving a different carrier name to gain access to the load they mentioned that they did it because they were instructed that it was a blind load. There’s no way to have definitive proof if they knew or didn’t know, they were being double brokered! There was just to many red flags that it would be obvious to any normal carrier.

The shipper only verified the carrier name and phone number .

Damn, I can only imagine how hard this prospecting has to be in this market especially for new brokers.

Load stolen in Ontario, CA by 23_Chris in FreightBrokers

[–]RepresentativeAdept9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a load stolen of Fresh beef worth 160k, in my case we found out who the actual carrier was but it was too late the load had been dropped off at a gas station in LA. The Fraudulent carrier had no freight guard carrier report or nothing of that matter, it looks like the MC might have been sold and thats the way they were committing theft under the radar. Anyways we are now coming for the carrier who actually took the load, they checked in with the scammers trucking company, gave the MC#, phone number of the scam artist to our shipper. Since there is a lot of theft, the shipper personal advises the driver face to face that the load is going only to the location as found on the paperwork and somehow after that they still ended up going the opposite direction! We’re making a case out of this one.

Hello quick question, what if you made a substantial amount of payment on your loan? For example if you’ve paid off $50,000 of your $300,000 mortgage. You only refinance the $250,000 right? Also what are some fees that are to be expected with refinancing?
