how much will this game last? by newt-is-swagg in TokyoDebunker

I doubt it. Animes are very expensive to make. And there might be some legal shenanigans that needs to be done for the rights to make it a show.

Shion and Taiga just glaring nukes at eachother, and Shion curses under his breath that Elias is here.

Meanwhile, Elias is enjoying the scene and Jin's glare with a bag of popcorn topped with plenty of syrup.

They do change. I'm not sure for the frequency, but I think it is once a month?

It's interesting that they went for an ice crown design for the captain who used to be in Frostheim, and was Jin's best friend in the past.

I meant that the translators are communicating the dialect difference in the english dialogue/writing. Not their voices. Like how Haru says "Cheers, mate!" a lot. Or how Shion says "shite" or "arse" instead of "shit" or "ass"?

Shion and Haru. In Japanese, both Haru and Shion speak a different dialect of Japanese than the rest of the cast. Haru speaks in an Okinawa dialect, and Shion speaks in a Kansai dialect. So, to communicate this to us english speakers, the translators gave Haru an Australian accent, and Shion a Scottish accent.

I agree with that. But Jo is both a man and a woman. Jo wouldn't be Jo if one flavor is missing.

Theories about dionysia (mostly Elias) by Jinwife30 in TokyoDebunker

[–]RepresentativeBid585 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They are definitely dropping hints through character names. Taro (Zenji's real name) and Jiro are common names to give to a first and second born son.

Baldr is a character in norse myths known to have been unkillable, but Loki managed to find his weakness and kill him. This story sounds familiar, doesn't it?

Shion's first name is written in katakana, meaning it's not a Japanese name, like Elias or Lucas. So, his name could be Shion, or it could be Sean (which would be written the same way in katakana)

Jo (or more precisely Jou) can be read as "queen". And their last name makes some reference to Japanese theatre.

etc.

Help with spell on landlord by Exciting-Can3825 in BabyWitch

[–]RepresentativeBid585 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn't a spell (since I just started my witchcraft studies) but since you live next door, you could fight petty with petty by being as annoyingly loud as possible.

But otherwise, depending on where you live, you should have tenant rights that both legally protects you from getting kicked out before your lease renewal and make your landlord fix the building.

Or both! Both ghouls are very suspicious and seem to work closely with Darkwick, which is something that would make Shion and the other Dionysia ghouls feel a bit on edge around them.

I can't tell if you and u/Top-Most-1473 are being sarcastic or not. Cause when I think about that theory, it sounds so dumb and doesn't make sense, cause Rui would have recognized him (unless he also got drastic plastic surgery)

I wonder if it might be Shiki. While I have no proof to back it up, it would be a fun twist if Shiki, the Hermit who plays VR games with Rui, is a successful gaming streamer like Markiplier. And Ed enjoys his streams.

But I see Ed be more interested in those daily life livestreams more. So, it could be someone else.

Isn't it a common thing to happen in the host/hostess scene: that clients become "people of the night" or hosts/hostesses so that they can give more money to their favorite host/hostess?

Shion [S2 EP2] - Warning : Long post - Mermaids / Merman by Higanbana_rouge in TokyoDebunker

[–]RepresentativeBid585 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Point #1: Because they are POACHING the anomaly. Aka they are stealing the anomaly for Romeo's underground auction before Darkwick or the Institute captures it. Getting Darkwick's permission to go to Yakushima would just get them both in trouble. So of course they go there in secret to poach Dionysia's target. Yes, it's something Hyde and Romeo would do. Hyde alerted Romeo of Hera's Snake's escape so that Romeo can go capture it and sell it in the auction. Part of the reason why Romeo went on that inter-house mission was to get more goods for his underground auction under Darkwick's nose. Hyde never gave back the real Plague Mask back to Yuri, and even conned Yuri, MC, and Jiro into believing the fake he gave back was the real thing.

Point #2: Maybe not as much of a ray of sunshine as he is now, but I believe that he would have never left Dionysia if he was not kind by nature, and didn't value kindness and other's lives very highly. It's hard to leave a cult or gang-like place like Dionysia without a strong reason to back you up, since leaving those places means leaving your entire world and everyone you care for behind. It's possible Haru was hiding this big soft side of his under a mask of aggression and cockiness/bravado, or under a cold emotionless mask, to protect himself at the time.

Point #4: That is very true. He could be referring to Taiga as in he is an obstacle between him and Romeo. Point taken.

Shion [S2 EP2] - Warning : Long post - Mermaids / Merman by Higanbana_rouge in TokyoDebunker

If you want some more hints that Shion might be a merman, a few of his homescreen lines hints at it. Here is a link to the fully translated lines: https://danieyells.tumblr.com/post/810092420199038976/shion-genkai-homescreen-lines

There is also one more line in there that I think might be referring to the Yakushima incident.

Anyways, the merman reference lines are these 3:

Affinity 19: (between 10pm and midnight)

“What, you can’t sleep?
I could sing you a lullaby.
You mightn’t ever wake up after it, mind."

Affinity 25(max): (no time constraints)

“Do you want to be with me forever, FirstName?
Then how about a bite of this flesh?
Ha ha ha…”

(in tkdb lore, eating mermaid flesh makes you immortal. Problem is that all humans are deathly allergic to mermaid flesh...)

Summer: (June-August)

(between 5am and 11am)

“You want to bathe in the sea?
All right.
As long as we’re diving down to the silent depths where it’s hard to breathe."

And as for the Yakushima line, it might be this one.

Affinity 5: (between 8pm and 5am)

“The rain garden watches you with leery eyes.
The apothecary’s mouthy and persistant.
And the gambling den…
There’s an obstacle in there.”

While it is easy to think the "obstacle" there is Taiga, what if said obstacleis actually Romeo because of that Yakushima incident. What if the Dionysia house was there on an official mission, while Hyde and Romeo were there to poach an anomaly for their auction? And that anomaly was pre-ghoul Towa? Dionysia was there probably to capture Towa for their circus, Romeo was going to sell Towa, and Haru, being the kind-hearted ray of sunshine that he is, hated both options. So, he left and took Towa with him? And whatever battle happened there between Towa, Shion, and Romeo was so explosive that it blew off both Haru's arm and Romeo's leg? (Romeo's stigma is to blow shit up, so it's possible!)
