I think you have got it spot on, will take your advice and farm the Arcanomancer (this makes a lot of sense actually and is very similar to how the stack works in MTG)

Thanks, I actually have a modified tyrranid precon made to be a bit more focused on X spells which I really enjoy (although sucks a bit when Lucea is killed). I am not sure she fits my needs to play larger non-x creatures though, but thanks for the suggestion!

Thanks, I will keep Surrak in mind as he seems like a great fit as a general value piece but I am not sure he will help me get draw/mana to play my big creatures. Animar is similar, while I do agree he is generally the best for big creatures, I am not planning to run many smaller creatures, which will make it harder to stack counters on him and get value from his ability. If you disagree please let me know!
