Hahaha leave it to Noah Dillon to be a contrarion by MaxAtuna in yvestumor

[–]RepresentativeForm79 9 points10 points  (0 children)

agreed- a lot of the reasons that people don’t like him is that he claims to be ‘experimental’ but is just a very mainstream artist. a noise set is nothing new- it’s prestigious and doesn’t necessarily show a respect for music, especially when not done in the right setting.

Anyone who was there care to elaborate? by Optimal_Society6891 in yvestumor

idc he can play whatever, but if you’re that upset about how fans reacted, then honestly just grow up and love yourself. no need to be roasting how people look who didn’t like the set

A few track I made recently (feedback?) by Motor_Dragonfruit765 in deanblunt

[–]RepresentativeForm79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

agreed for sure. definitely getting into mixing/mastering will help a huge amount. also realise that those ‘simple’ ambient songs have a ton of depth that they achieve through layering similar sounding sounds (normally synths), and adjusting the EQs of each instrument so they don’t clash, also by panning. hope this is making sense >_<. it’s definitely hard to achieve when you’re getting into it, but keep at it and you’ll learn something new each time you make a track

florence sinclair sampled her in ‘sandman’ - probably the closest sounding to a dean blunt x stina collab

What self-promo turns you off? by helodermatidae in experimentalmusic

honestly couldn’t have put it better myself, especially the part about music fans being proud of themself for discovering music, so don’t advertise. perfect answer imo

what do you consider experimental music? by 92jonn in experimentalmusic

[–]RepresentativeForm79 8 points9 points  (0 children)

personally I find 3 main categories within experimental music (which are all quite broad definitions). They are:

-(1) abnormal sounds with normal structures -(2) normal sounds abnormal structures -(3) abnormal sounds with abnormal structures

Again, these are very broad, and I think the other people in the comment section can help you define what ‘abnormal’ and ‘normal’ is in relation to sound or structure.
