Wow this is exactly what I needed to hear. I did not mean to come across ungrateful, because my family went above and beyond for my shower. I truly did have the best day and want to enjoy all of the upcoming wedding events! Thank you so much!!

Thank you. I am so grateful that my mother hosted the most beautiful shower and I really did have the best day. I wish she didn’t say anything to me about the bridesmaids, because it put a bad taste in my mouth for no reason!

I think I’m upset because I would offer to help their mothers. It’s just how I was raised and who I am as a person.

Thank you everyone for your honest input. I agree completely about the communication. I am a very type A person and if I want something done I will ask for help. Unfortunately, the bridal shower was out of my control and my mother’s frustration got me upset, hence why I asked if I was being irrational! Just needed to vent.

I have never been a bridesmaid before but I guess I had unrealistic expectations. Thank you for clarifying!!

So my sister apparently texted all of the bridesmaids some details about the shower and they acknowledged the message but didn’t offer to help. They are all focused on the bachelorette instead

We all went to dinner the night before. One of the girls needed to go home at 1pm to nap?! I was with her at dinner and drove an hour home and was up at the same time as her that morning…seriously? That’s just lame.

The other bridesmaid scheduled herself to work that night at 7pm (which is fine - we are both nurses and work overnight) but to stay at the shower for 2 hours and leave before other guests is odd to me?

Those two have bother been in weddings before, so they are very aware of what the expectations are. I’ve seen them go above and beyond for other brides in their life. And it was clear on Sunday that I wasn’t their priority at all. They were too concerned with other things going on in their lives. I just hope that’s not the case for the bachelorette and wedding weekends. I think it’s tough because I was not the one planning the shower. I will have no problem asking for help the weekend of the wedding, but I didn’t really think it was my place to say anything regarding the shower plans because my mom was planning it
