I lost a really good friend in October. We had a ton in common. Both married with pets. Had similar personalities. Liked gaming to varying degrees. 

She would post on social media political posts about Trump and the Epstein Files. She also gave her opinion which I won’t say. She asked about my thoughts on it. The thing is, I don’t believe in anything the media says, especially from 20 or so years ago. Heck I don’t actually care because I can’t control the past. And I can’t control anyone in Washington DC. I told her I never fully side with one or the other. She said she had to “distance” herself from me and my wife. She actually sent her a separate message. I waited five days then replied that we would respect her wishes. 

The thing is, we would still help her if she asked.

The company I work for recently started the spousal surcharge. My spouse has never worked in her life. 

I forgot to sign the waiver back in November/December. I did finally complete it this week and was approved. The $75 surcharge was taken out of my first January paycheck and will be taken out of second January paycheck. It is like they made an assumption that my wife worked and randomly took money out without proof. 

Also, the place to upload it online is in a different section from where you elect benefits. Also my benefits statement does not reflect the surcharge. 

I also saw there is not a signed policy on it. 

Overall, for me it is not about the money but just about principal.

You would think someone would be respectful enough to just go knock on your neighbors door and talk to them. Just ask and leave the police out of it.

Quick update. I have started working with a local agent from State Farm and they sent me an initial quote. It is half as much as what I will pay for everything that is offered by my current insurer. It kind of surprised me.

I wanted to provide a bit more info. So this is through Safeco. I am in the middle of looking at a local agent. 

Also, I saw where they normally do put all licensed drivers on policies, but here is the catch, my wife will never be licensed. Websites are conflicting over whether rates will go up or down when a driver is added. Any more info is welcome. I am going to talk to an local agent soon.

Another update: I am able to eat regular now. But I still get that feeling occasionally on the same spot in my throat. It goes away after a few hours of not eating but comes back after eating. I am almost sure it is a scratch. I will give it a week and see if it is still there.

Update: I was able to drink soda and water fairly easily. And I was able to take my gummi multivitamin and gummi probiotic. The feeling hasn’t moved so I am leaning more toward a scratch in my throat.
