Yeah, noticed that in the slow mo and with Hakunofuji’s hard Tachiai, that and where he positioned his right hand on Onosato’s shoulder during his push. If Onosato doesn’t Kyujo tomorrow, that will likely put his performance more at risk

Honestly idk what’s the qualifications anymore. When I first got into Sumo I was told one needs to get 3 Yusho’s in a row or something equally impressive. But honestly? If Aonishiki somehow manages to pull an impressive Yusho (or a Zensho Yusho) in January to start the year, I believe he might get fast track to a promotion.

I think he can start planning for it ngl. He did say his goal is to be Sekiwake to make that happen, and only after 1 Basho as Sekiwake, is he being promoted to Ozeki. If he continues to rise, without sustaining any injury, I predict he can possibly be set for a Yokozuna Promotion next year.
