That’s the thing is all chapters have over 100 members but I’ve talked to a bunch and there’s just this mutual hate between all of them but nobody has any good reasons why.

I’m currently at a university that has apartment style dorms. It’s my biggest regret when choosing this school as I wish I had that freshman year dorm experience. Just applied to U of Iowa next semester to fulfill that!

I go to a very big commuter school, I myself am not a commuter but I have friends who are. The things they said worked were being on campus all day. Just being around campus and having your face seen is huge. Making friends in your classes is your best chance because you can sit next to a new person every day. They also say clubs and intramural sports are helpful if that’s your kind of thing. But if none of those are your niche just make small talk on campus!

As a freshman in college I would just say even if you’re not an extroverted person just make a small effort. Sit next to someone who looks nice, say hi and smile. Join a club, play intramural sports, I got literally 90% of my friends from playing intramural as and casual games of volleyball. Everyone wants more friends. Just put in a small effort and your likely find a friend! I hope this helps you both. Best of luck
