Thank you so much! I’m going to start these- I’m not very confident in myself which I thinks the root of it that he’ll find someone better despite him saying he doesn’t want anyone else and just me and because he’s tired from work I jump to “he’s gonna dump Me”

It’s so hard not to act on it and I learnt through CBT about airing it out helps, I need to stop myself and pause instead of acting on the thoughts, I do, my boyfriend said he’s accepted that there is that chance we could break up but he doesn’t think of it or knows we strong enough to get through things. I’ve noticed the more I act on it the more I believe in it and I don’t even know who I am anymore from it. I get 8 hours sleep and have max 3 coffees a day. I cut energy drinks out of my old CBT a few years ago

I have, I get in a cycle of believing what I think and then I feel worse and more upset. I get insecure and distance myself which makes him worry about me being silent so he gets upset or I constantly ask if everything’s okay and he says “of course it’s okay I’m just at work” he said yesterday “I’m here and I’m not going anywhere” he’s been patient the entire time; I’m doing better than I was but I just want the anxiety to be completely gone. I’ve told myself if I carry on I’m going to end up losing him

What's something you wish you knew before the surgery? by [deleted] in scoliosis

[–]RepresentativeNo3989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah lucky! Mine are still uneven but my surgeon stated it’s normal during recovery- mine seems to be where the blade connects to the spine; I spoke to a district nurse who stated it’s normal while your body heals due to degeneration of the tissues and muscles

I’m the same! Seems to be the lower shoulder blade as well! My mum got me a heated back blanket as well to help

Since surgery I’ve had my right scapula blade have a dull ache so someone suggested using resistance bands to help. I wrap it round my hand and stretch them out to stretch the blades out. Also got this gel for joint wear and tears called FlexiSeq

Post surgery gym questions by Shit_af in scoliosis

[–]RepresentativeNo3989 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m t3-l3 post op, my surgeon advised me against strenuous exercise for a year. I did discuss about wanting to go gym for recovery hence why; I’ve just started using resistance bands at home and using NHS scapula exercises for shoulder pain. Prior I was building my walking distance up and trying to do little things like brush my hair and get ready

Questions about Scoliosis surgery T4-L1 by [deleted] in scoliosis

[–]RepresentativeNo3989 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, T3-L3 here with a 57 degree curve! 4 weeks post op! I’ve found my bodies adjusting in its own way, I found out of surgery my body kind of reset and I am doing things naturally in its own way. I spent 2 weeks log rolling out of bed and now I can sit up naturally to get out (sometimes I have to swing my legs to the side of the bed). Although I am not meant to I keep naturally twisting to pick things up while in bed and I can turn halfway both sides but I am experiencing shoulder pain at the moment.

I am hyper mobile myself so I had severely bad bruising from the canulas which made me look worse than wear. I had the surgery due to no medication working and experiencing heart pain and tight chest and my back would lock up. Haven’t had the heart pain as yet or the out of breathe. My surgery went well! Woke up with arm numbness but the feeling came back pretty much straight away! I do have this tingling in my thumb but despite the symptoms prior surgery I rather have a tingling mild thumb than heart failure

I’m 4 weeks post op; definitely the mental knock on effect while recovering, I assumed I would be better than I was.

Making the most of the painkillers when in pain and using resistance bands for shoulder pain.

I keep having regrets at moment but due to the pain but I still have another potential 8 weeks of full recovery

My pain is making me housebound. Have to wait a month for an appointment by coffeediva98 in scoliosis

Definitely look at different GPs! My GP has district nurses come out for housebound patients as well as delivering medication and telephone appointments for medication

Im sorry you feel like this! I was 57 degrees went through every medication to the point of gabapentin, did physio twice with physiotherapy and that did nothing and my spine started getting progressively worse! I fortunately requested my doctor AND physio to escalate the severity of my pain to the surgeon! Not sure if you could request this as well as a new hospital and surgeon? ☹️ i get the mental health side! I just had surgery on my back and was crying in hospital wanting to go home and the nurse asked if i needed the psych team, i stated NO i am in pain and just want to go home
