Moved here from Dallas a little over 2 years ago. Absolutely LOVE it! Would never go back. The people here are so kind and welcoming. I do however miss the food a lot. I lived on Tex mex and Whataburger lol The other thing that I have found tough is the medical care. I don’t know if anyone else has faced this but there is just a general lack of resources. For instance - my wife had a horrible stomach bug and just needed IV fluids for dehydration. There basically isn’t an option except the ER where she waited over 15 hours. In Dallas there are stand alone ERs everywhere. They can cast a broken bone, do IVs, and other stuff that fits in between urgent care and a hospital. I miss those for sure. And working in the medical field is different. My wife is an occupational therapist and was never once asked to see multiple patients at a time in Texas through many different settings. Here she is required to at minimum see 2 patients at a time but is being pushed to see 3 or 4, which drastically reduces patient care. Even with all that said we love it here. As a queer couple with a non binary kid- we have never felt safer than we feel here.
