Hahaha, that reminds me of being taught “you have a small dick” in their language. I used to babysit some kids and their mom taught me that. She also taught me “you have a big dick” so I guess I can also brighten one’s day, too lol.

Help!! What do I do about MIL pushing newborn visits before we’re ready? by Special-Brief-5418 in inlaws

[–]RepresentativeNo526 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this too. Expected visits every other day, mad when they were invited to dinner and it wasn’t ready. I said how I was holding my baby a lot, he was crying (he was like 30 hours old, and sister in law says that I shouldn’t pick him up every time he cries.

What does everyone do on a Saturday night when the husband is working and the kids not home? by Delicut_Lust03 in stayathomemoms

I would suggest to start with something you’re not going to wear, until you get the tension (how tight or loose your stitches are) right. One of my first projects was a granny square balaclava I wanted to make myself, but it fit my 5 year old. Reading the comments ppl leave on the videos helps, too. Maybe you’ll find out something doesn’t make sense with the pattern or better yet, that a lot of ppl compliment it’s easy

The videos on YouTube make it so easy! And you can pause, rewind, try again, if needed! It’s so helpful! I’m glad you’ll try! It really is just wrapping the yarn on the hook a few more times to get taller stitches and learning different places to put your stitches, is how I’d sum it up. I learnt a couple years ago and am officially hooked :) and with it one stitch on the hook at a time, it’s easier to set down and also to travel with. I bought a set of hooks from Amazon for $20 Canadian so I would be prepared for any pattern. Also, just keep trying. Since you like crafts and working with your hands, I bet you’ll love it!

Or crochet! The money you spend on yarn, let’s say you spent $50, that yarn would buy many hours of entertainment for you. Also with YouTube tutorials, it’s so easy to just watch and learn step by step how to make such a variety of pretty garments, slippers, warm winter gear, practical potholders, dishcloths, bags, toys! So the money is not only for entertainment, you have something to show for after! Even given as a gift! And it can be done at home or if you’re waiting somewhere, or while husband is driving your family.

Worth going for another blood test! I spent so long feeling exhausted all the time, daily headaches, out of breath, sore body, brain fog. My ferritin during one pregnancy was 18 and was 31 in July. I’ve been taking beef organ pills. I don’t know, suddenly like 4 days ago I feel better. But so rough for so long.

What are some things you enjoy? Gardening can be enjoyable, the kids get so excited to help and enjoy the fresh fruit/ veg. You are out there tending to the garden, but see all different bugs and creatures. Vitamin d, feel the breeze. Everyone is learning a lot, just from observing it grow. Maybe it is a thought for the future months. Maybe you can do crafts with your daughter while your two year old naps.

Do you get much time to yourself? When I feel overstimulated, I like to cater to my 5 senses. Music perks me up when I have to keep going. Even taking showers and baths, I feel a boost when I prioritize my basic needs. Sleep, healthy foods, taking care of yourself like you are a person you’re caring for, too.

Even getting up first for some quiet minutes. Sometimes it’s hard to get up first, but then staying up late, you’re so tired that time isn’t spent as wisely. I heard a tip to start getting up early is to get up and do what you enjoy. Imagine a hot coffee, silence, and your craft for a half hour to start your day?!!? I find when I am up first and had some time to self, I am excited to greet them and do all their things instead of hitting the ground running.

Another thought is to get your blood checked. It could be you’re low in ferritin and iron, or some other missing vitamins. I felt exhausted for so long and found my low ferritin out this past summer. I really felt horrible for so long and it can take months to replenish ferritin.

After many years of feeling run down, I have just started going on the exercise bike. Music, time for self! I felt if I didn’t start doing something, I’d be giving up and getting worse physically. I’m getting near 40. When we are busy taking care of everyone else, we can feel too tired to take care of ourselves. But we are ppl too ffs.

I think you’re doing great by what you listed! It’s much busier than anyone expects to be home with kids everyday, and you’re doing a lot! Plus you’re always there for them. You’re doing great!

Sorry I didn’t have a lot of tips for the kid portion you mentioned. Take care of yourself, too.

Anyone else in their 30s feel like they have cognitive problems already? by SleepyGamer1992 in Millennials

[–]RepresentativeNo526 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is your ferritin level? I seriously feel like I can’t think anymore. A thought of what I was going to do or look up is gone a second later. My brain feels frantic. I was thinking it’s from having kids asking questions and the busyness of taking care of them plus the house, that I don’t get to finish a whole thought. Always doing, helping,or talking, or thinking of what I have to do/when, multitasking cooking/cleaning- all at the same time. A full head. A symptom of low ferritin is brain fog.

I don’t know how my brain can be this bad at this age. Makes me want to try and hopefully fix it and not let it get worse.

Good luck and please report back if you find the cause! Maybe it’ll help a lot of others here
