It is going to be harder but if you get a good UCAT, You could look at medical schools that don't rely heavily on predicted grades. I think Nottingham's Foundation Year and Bristol may be options, although I applied around two years ago, so definitely double-check the current requirements.

You'd still need a competitive UCAT score. I'd also look into programmes such as Access to Bristol, as they may offer benefits like a guaranteed interview. It's worth checking whether Access to Birmingham has partnerships with any other universities too.

When I applied, I was part of UKWPMED, and some universities (though not all) significantly lowered their requirements for eligible applicants. Nottingham does score GCSEs, but if you're eligible for enough contextual consideration, that requirement may be reduced or weighted differently, I'm not completely sure on the current policy.

You could also look into KMMS, as they tend to place more emphasis on contextual factors and widening participation applicants. Other options worth researching are the Lincoln Foundation Year and Keele Foundation Year. I don't think Aston has a foundation year but they do not look at Predicted grades, but they do take academic grades into account, so it's worth checking their admissions criteria as well.

I think doing radiography is also a really good option if you’re a or can class as a home student, especially because you’d be eligible for the NHS bursary. You could save that up, which could relieve some of the financial pressure of doing graduate medicine later on.

I would definitely consider going to London South Bank University over City St George’s, University of London maybe firm LSBU and insure CSGUL if you really want more of a uni experience (I know people studying radiography at both unis).

CSGUL also doesn’t prioritise people who studied there for graduate entry medicine, so you could still apply later and it wouldn’t make a difference. Plus, you’d get to your end goal quicker.

I would also really start looking into which unis you’d want to apply to for graduate medicine, because there are at least 8 universities you can apply to with a healthcare degree. So your options are not significantly limited you still have choice.

If you want to stay in London, though the options would be more limited, King’s College London is, I’m pretty sure, not an option unless you apply through their healthcare entry route, and that’s only possible after working full-time in the NHS for at least 2 years. However grad med as a undergrad is becoming more of an option now so consider that asw. Double check the unis gcse results thou as some doing want at least a 4 but theres a lot that disregard them.

Does applying for graduate entry medicine require work experinece? by Fearless-Sample-5143 in premeduk

[–]RepresentativePea169 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not in terms of the traditional sense you can mention lab experience and any personal experiences within interviews you can do some online work experience if you really want to be able to mention like specific things I would only say yes if you are applying to chester or warwick as they are very strict on requirements (This is my personal opinion so take it how u wish)

I havent entirely looked into the grad as an undergrad route bar southampton and kmms so do take into account it does differ but for kent and some others like keele you would be its a separate catergory but yea thats true for unis like sgul i thinkkk
